I have got about 5 negative feedback comments because i said MK did some revolutionary shit and my K groove meter ain’t gonna fill itself so i am gonna talk a little bit more about MK. I was just wondering, how do you lot feel a MK vs SF game would play and do you think it could work? I mean they have greatly different art styles, SF’s a 6 button game, hold back to block, well thought out, great character diversity, often well balanced, and well thought out.
MK on the other hand, characters often have the same normals and often only differentiated by special moves, button presses to block, and apparently the best title in the series was only good by fluke (UMK3).
I was just wondering, considering how different the two games play and their design philosophies, do you think a vs game with the two franchises could work? I think it’s safe to say Midway would fuck up the game but do you think Capcom could make a godly fighting game out of these two franchises?
give me hope the merging of the franchises could work.
Also, how do you think the game would play like? More grounded like Super turbo, CC based like the alpha games or insane and shit happening everywhere like the Capcom VS games?
Well according to the original MK dev team, Midway was in real talks to collaborate a Street Fighter vs Mortal Kombat game during the 90’s. Nothing obviously got off the ground but there was real planning afoot.
Yeah and Ed Boon still hopes for it. I think the main problem was licensing rights and violenc and possibly who should develop it. Considering Capcom were able to team up with SNK successfully, MKVSDC showed MK can be done with toned down violence and one side at the very least is still up for it at the very least it should be fun.
Failing that Sub Zero and Scorpion to be guest characters in SC5.*
