I like whatever side puts my opponent on his weaker side.
back then the player 2 side cuz i can do left side dp flawlessly.
My strat consisted of:
a) if facing the right side do projectiles only no dp’s
b) if facing left side its ok to do dp’s
LOL
Whichever has a non-broken stick and buttons.
Even after all these years I still have a preference 2p side. I can execute just as well on either side, but I feel like I don’t have to try quite as hard on 2p side.
lol@arcade controls. I always tested the joysticks before putting in my quarter and probably 1/2 the time the 1p joystick would have some kind of weird jerky spot in it. All great arcade players got used to using the 2p side more.
Honestly, it doesn’t matter what side you’re on because you have to get used to both sides. When you are joining a game online, the person who is the host usually is given the 1P side. Sometimes, the computer chooses sides randomly. In arcades, it’s simply first come, first serve.
When it comes to actually playing the game, there will be many instances where you will be forced to change sides (certain throws, cross-ups, etc.) and these are instances that you have to deal with. Your best bet is to practice playing the game on both sides so you get used to both sides.
2P with arcade stick. 1P with controller.
Using a square gated stick I’m fine with either side. DP motion characters “feel” better on 2P side, though. It’s just easier to snap my wrist for DP and QCF motions.
Bart is awesome. Jumping skateboard swing is probably the second best special after Homer’s Luigi kicks. Actually, maybe it’s THE best. Poor Lisa, though. Her special is pretty lame.
I used to not be able to do dp motions while facing towards the right. So I practiced it until I could. Then I couldn’t do them towards the left anymore D:
When I was a kid everyone always made me 2p so because of that I always have problems doing my supers and dps on 1st player side. lol, sometimes in a match people will say “Oh no! shes on the 2p side she’s gonna whoop you!!!”
Mine too x.x
I feel bad for being a '09, I’m not like them!
This, if you are good on one side, then play on the other side to make it just as good.
Check my name…
For me (and likely others), it’s not a matter of side dependency. My side tends to have controllers that work better (since everyone gravitates to 1P). Also, I like to have elbow room when I’m pressing buttons, so it’s comfortable for me and the opponent when I play on my side.
