Do you plan supporting this scam?

Yeah, he works for Capcpom. Name is Combofiend.

Too bad he couldn’t convince them to give two shits about the graphics and models.

day 1 dlc is standard nowadays, I dont get angry about that anymore

not buying the game because it looks like a lazy cashgrab.

doesnt matter if it plays well, someone at capcom saw the visuals and said “its fine, they will buy it anyway” and that dude is not getting my money

Gamefly rental at best.

Might pick it up for $20 a year from now once all the DLC characters drop.

This is a budget title masquerading as a $60 AAA game.

And don’t be naive to think that what we’ve seen so far is worst it could get. Netcode, lobbies, what features will actually be ready Day 1; we know nothing.

You should all know Capcom’s track record by now. Preorder at your own risk.

Who’s still planning to support this scam?

After watching Combofiend break down the game mechanics I’m on they hype train.

i just came here to read the comments :coffee:

I’m still mad that I bought SFV when it came out and am expected to keep repurchasing it to get the new characters.

I was having none of it. I did buy a PS4 and KoF XIV a month before the PS4Pro came out so I was a bit pissed about that. Meh I like the original design better anyway, I’ll get the Pro when the console and VR are cheap.

This game isn’t Marvel vs Capcom. Should be called “Marvel MCU promotion vs Capcom ugly friends”.

Enjoy your “pay-service that will go on for years”!!

I’m confused

Now I get people don’t like dlc

But you don’t want a game supported a new content added?

If characters are being added in 2/3 years time you have a issue with this?

The problem is that they usually release an unfinished game for full price, at the promise of that on-going content. But since the game is usually barebones on release, the sales suffer, and the “service” doesn’t seem so guaranteed as a result.
MVCI seems to have single player content that SFV missed, but if they don’t touch up the models for release because they will keep supporting the game and plan to fix the models two months after release, the sales and reviews will already have suffered, so doesn’t matter what service they give, will be too little too late.

Who usually dose this? Capcom?
Blizzard? Riot games? Rockstar?

It’s basically chun li that need touching up, Dante aswell, annnd that’s basically it

However devils advocates here, if chin like is uglynand everybody is fine? Do the models need work or just chun li need work?

Not all models need to be fixed, chun li needs to be fixed

Yup, I love Mahvel games they’re my favourite fighting games, I’ve just accepted these business practices as a fact of the nature of the gaming industry in this age. I’ll tell you a story about FFXV.

Versus XIII was in development for 7 years, never developed a consistent story and barely had any gameplay made for it on the PS4 platform. It was cancelled in 2012 and they then started development on FFXV in 2013 using the same elements just with a slightly different “story.” Tabata and the team were given a maximum of three years development time and a deadline of Q4 2016 to finish the project, and that it would be released no matter what state it was in.

While being a massive game the story is a massive flop, there’s barely any story content at all, some characters don’t even come into it, for a Final Fantasy it is WEAK. On the flip side the gameplay is fantastic and the amount of stuff to do is almost endless. Instantly I bought the season pass for DLC extras so paid $85 in total for the game and I’ve been playing for 250hrs so far and I’m still continuing to play the game and still receiving new content in updates, so for that amount of time I’m satisfied.

Was it worth it? Yes. Did it have a Day One patch? Yes. Is it a good game? Yes. Do I appreciate the DLC? Yes. So joy!

This is just the way things are, Capcom aren’t the only ones, I’ve seen digital games on the PS Store deuluxe editions for $100!!! $100 fucking dollars! For a digital release. This isn’t exclusive to Crapcom, it’s happening everywhere. I mean, just imagine how much money the average WoW player has spent? Subscription games are an even bigger scam on a completely different scale especially coming from very wealthy companies like Blizzard.

To me this is small game, there’s far bigger scams out there and I’m glad not to be suckered in to those games. If I buy this game I’ll play it for years, not days weeks or months, years, and for an extra $25 for a DLC season pass for a game that’s going to last me half a decade, well fuck it regardless of what Capcom’s intentions are. For all I care they can get fucked but I’m still going to enjoy the game, I’ll just let other people boycott if that’s what they choose to do, one single sale won’t effect them as much as a loss of 100,000 sales. And at the end of the day I’m happy, I’m just going to enjoy the game and Crapcom can stay in the back of my mind where they belong.

Yeah. Because they’re hinting that they’ll keep adding more and more new characters to the roster… do you think that will be for free? They’re even charging in advance for six of them… and so far I haven’t seen people really thrilled or satisfied with the initial roster. You’ll be paying extra FOR YEARS AND YEARS TO COME!! It’s a freaking scam.

Really? Then why other games like KOF are not doing this? Why they can give you 50 characters from the beginning (and then offer you 4 more optional characters) and Capcom doesn’t?
It’s not the “business practices nature of this age”, it’s because people keep supporting these scams that it keeps happening. And no, I don’t think this will be succesful, fortunately people aren’t that stupid in the fighting game audience, which is actually quite small and we should protect from stupid practices that could ruin it in any moment. This is even worse than Street Fighter V.

Do you know what a scam is, stop being dramatic!
Not a single person is here holding a gun to your head telling you to by it, and at no point is it false advertising , there are telling you before hand we are going to make dlc, if you don’t like it or a character, DO NOT BUY THEM

How is this a scam?

Good fucking grief

Guess what I want them to support the game

Next year I want another round of dlc characters, maybe some balance, and if I’m still enjoying the game

I’ll fucking pay for it and I’ll do it because I want it,

Same way when I enjoyed other games that had post release content, if I’m still enjoying the game and they make more I want it.

You think gamers are getting scammed look at the millions that buy sports game dlc, cod maps, extra missions in GTA , destiny expansions

Gtfoh

Why didn’t KoF XIV do it? Becaus SNK sacrificed graphics for roster size and development time, something Capcom didn’t do with SFV. But there’s no pleasing anyone, if the gameplay is stale they don’t want anything to do with it, if there’s a pay wall they don’t want anything to do with it, if the graphics are subtle they don’t want anything to do with it, so how can you satisfy anyone?

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TFqULKhHJuo

And on the topic of rosters, it doesn’t look like DBZ will have a big roster by the size of the character select, it looks like maybe 18-22 characters could fit in there? That could of course change, but right their on the flip side is an example of a company who’s chose graphics over roster size.

So you can see how this all works. No one can provide what everyone wants, what “the people” want isn’t achievable. MvC2 only achieved what it did because Capcom had a huge catalogue of CPS2 sprites that all had the same art style and that they could choose at their own disposal.

As the saying goes, you’ve got to make do with what you’ve got, Capcom’s main priority with Infinite was gameplay, so that appeals to me.

For this to not be a scam, Capcom should release the complete plan for those 5 years to come, for the buyers to exactly know how much they will have to spend in order to get the full experience.

You’re paying $60 dollars now, and it’s not even the complete roster?

They should tell you how much they will charge for the 10 or so extra DLC character packs.

What if it’s like $300 dollars?

Wouldn’t you feel scammed if the initial roster is 1/5 of what the final one will be, and you’d have to pay twice the full price to get the actual full roster?

Wouldn’t you feel the initial investment wasn’t worth it?

None of that is compared to charge you for a dozen of CHARACTERS (because that’s what they’re talking about in the interview). I wouldn’t complain if they’re selling extra stages, or DLC costumes or freaking color palettes, but on top of a lackluster initial roster and cut-down characters for the “Premium” pack, you’ll have to keep on paying on extra FOR YEARS for characters that should have been there from the very beginning (like the X-Men).

You k now what’s funny about this? That the KOF XIV character models still look better than Chun-Li’s face in this game!! And they went the extra mile giving you a graphics-enhancement patch FOR FREE! Which I think Capcom is not even willing to do.

Are you ok? Honestly

This isn’t how it works, not Evey company can plan out 5 years of dlc and it’s stupid for them to even attempt to do so, business wise , you need to see how you game is still going, fan demand, is it even still being played, they might decide it’s best not to support FML they could even be making a mvci2 for all you know at this point

What you’re asking for is for business to guess and predict the future, then you won’t feel scammed?

Would I feel scammed if they expanded the roster by 80% over 5 years. Emmm no I play league of legends and this is exactly what happened there, if the demand is there and I’m still enjoying it, give me everything I don’t actually care,

Like I said , they announced the first wave of dlc and sisd they plan more, I’m not being funny but you’ve lost your mind if you think they have made a extra 30 characters and have them on ice just for 5 years when people might still be playing

How much is Capcpom paying y’all? It can’t be that much, considering how cheap the game looks.

You could probably make more than they’re paying you flipping burgers for a month, and you’d be more respected too.
