I’ll buy it if I see a deal on it. I remember the season pass for Dark Souls 2 was on sale at Green man Gaming for $20. I had to snag it for that price.
I will pay because
-fuck the endless grinding
-i want everything avaible
-30$ is no big deal
-30$ for 6 characters (+costumes) is no big deal
-support capcom and hope they keep deliver characters
Given that there’s an alternative way to earn them, I’d only spend real money on DLC characters if there is somebody I feel I need to play on day one of their release.
Sight unseen, none of the characters in the first batch do that for me just based on name and legacy. I’d have to be really intrigued by their SFV implementation.
I just remember they said “some costumes will only be able to be purchased with real money” or something along those lines. I hope that doesn’t apply to season pass owners. You’ve paid your fee, you should be able to unlock everything after that with fight money.
I will get the season pass. I still a big backlog of fighting games and characters that I need to go through and play so I won’t have time to grind through.
I have bought and only played a few hours or so of many fighting games like Tekken 6, TTT2, SFxT, the whole Blazblue series, P4A, UNIEL, IGAU, GGxrd, SF3. I will need to find time to play SF5 while giving time to these games too.
Also, with Central Fiction, KOF14 and Tekken 7 coming soon, I will give my attention to them as well.
I hate DLC and Im still not cool with the current state of capcom
I will pay for the season pass. While SFV will be my main game next year, I will also be spending time on the next GGxrd game and I believe Overwatch will become a huge time sink for me.
Grind. But If Juri is available day 1 then SP is being bought. But if she’s longer down the line then I’ll just save up my FM just for her. Speaking of FM, capcom never stated anywhere online wasn’t the only way of getting FM? I mean could I gain some in single player? that would be nice.
I’m a grinder in video games by nature.
Word is they should have single player quests so you won’t be forced to play online just to earn money.
Alex is the only post launch character I want to play. I’ll grind just to get him.
Buying that season pass. That stuff is basically made for TOs like me.
I don’t want to compromise the enjoyment of the game with the urge to get zenny to pay for X character or stuff. I suspect the earning rate of Zenny is going to be very low or even decreasing as gaming hours rise. Overall, reminds me of this:

Urien and Alex are the only no brainers to me, and that if they don’t manage to ruin them like Karin, so I’m probably paying for 2-3 characters and using the zenny earned on another one. In any case, I’m thrilled for the DLC because it gives me a chance to not give then any money for characters I dislike like Balrog.
How the fuck did they ruin Karin, dude? She’s considered to be one of the best characters in the game.
He’s just talking about her moveset. SFV pretty much reinvented her so that the only thing familiar about her from a SFA3 player is her normals. As soon as you start using her she’s pretty different in that her rekkas can only be accessed under a time frame in V Trigger. Plus no counters or command grab.
If you have no attachment to that, then yeah she’s a pretty solid character who has some of the best buttons and walk speed with a lot of mind games and bnb potential in V Trigger. I’m sure Vega no longer being a charge character ruined him for some people too, but opened him up for others as well.
I mean regarding her signature gameplay. From command grab, counter and rekkas she went to no grab, no counter and worse rekkas limited to once or twice each round. Something similar happened to Ibuki in SF4: she ended in a higher tier than 3S thanks to her vortex but lost her walkspeed, movement options and good normals. Pyrrhic victory to me.
I never really had an attachment to A3 Karin so I like that she still retains basic things like walk speed and good buttons. Every character to me is fun if they have those 2 things.
I like the new command dash they gave her and the tenko uppercut that can be just framed is a cool concept as well.
The difference is that Karin was very low tier in A3. Sometimes you just gotta’ start over if something doesn’t work. I wouldn’t mind if/when Capcom changes most of Alex’s move-set so long as every special/super works actually works.
Aren’t you confusing her with Mika? AFAIK, V-Karin is just a level below the top tiers.
