Hi as you all know right now im working on mvc2 tutorials for a will now because …i started learning the game just by reading trying and youtube tutorials most made in spanich …those tutorials realy helped me a lot and i was thinking …maybe there are still people strugeling to get a feeling for some combos chars or whatever …
i started playing iron man and than magneto and my most used team till today is combofiend …my brother only plays cable based teams so i had a hard time learning how to fight good msp or mss players …
i play all toptier chars like the big 4 …but i use storm just 5% of all my matches playing toptier chars …
i play duc …Clock …matrix …and can play blackheart …
i can’t do chuns inf on ps3 or cyclops inf …like i could on ps2 …and i have nearly no low vs godtier experience so i don’t realy know how to beat msp using spidaman and gambit … but i can do most combos …and know how to setup some lowtier infinits …ken for example … i m still woring on a iron man inf video because i feel like there is nothing i can show that you can’t find on youtube …i have recordet all of his usefull solosetups … and im thinking of extending it by adding air 2 ground solo and many air 2 ground using a lot of assist … and i m working on a captain comando tutorial … but i m realy bad using him so …i will first train a bit myself …before i give you an untestet addvice …storm basic tutorial is also onthe way …so i hope you get the point … i preform every combo using my own hands so there are limits of execution …like trons sjc dash ground inf … or 20 framer in a combo but this is nothing anyone needs 2 learn by a tutorial at this level just watch it and try it till you get it …
i would also like if some of you could make some tutorials or strategie guieds for there favurite low tier chars …
I think a good place to start is not just with certain characters, but with the mechanics of the game. OTGs, unblockables, guardbreaks, guard cancels, etc. When i started learning this game, I went straight to combo videos and character specific things. I should have gone straight to the mechanics of the game that i should know before trying to get into certain character things.
If you are going for certain character videos though, I would say doing the top 4, then top 10, then certain characters which may have a good niche on some of the more popular teams.
hmm thats hard 2 do because how can you show guardchanel ??? you do a move there is somthing not hiting you can block so you starg goining into blocking mode but nothing hits you so there is no blockstun and you can do whatever you want …flying screen is thomthing magnetro has tryed to explain to all of us …and we all know maybe 40% …magnetro also made a video of all unblockabels i know so far … like strange things using projektiles and dhc or moves that dont put you into your blocking mode … i need your ideas how to show that but i will do a wavedash jumpcancel , and i will show wat i call empty cancel of special moves and normals but my advice for all beginners was allways like keep calling assist all the time till you know when it is best to wait and call them later …like i said guardcancel is fraking hard to record and show but i will do my best to do so …
Yo there is no need for a gamemechanics tutorial, the basics are perfectly explained on joo´s mvc2 dvd and its still free to download on http://magnetro.com/dvd/ that guy put 6 years of work into this dvd so go check that shit out!
It would be intresting to see which assists can be beaten by other assists or how to evade certain assists while pressuring the opponent.
Mr Broken …your are definitely right …joo and magnetro showed everything in a way i will never be able to do …
but i think this dvd is unknown to many people starting playing mvc2 … the point why i m twisted about doing such a video is i m afraid to tell pure bullshit …just because i don’t know it better mvc 2 is a very deep game and sometimes i don’t understand why thinks are the way they are … like the unblock able moves or that you stop blocking if your assist gets hit (blodia punch or magnetist thempest as an example )…
Broken you are one of the best mvc2 players i know …and you are very skilled using high or low tier … i think we both should work on a concept , your storm is way better than mine … so maybe you could work on a storm tutorial … not for combos but for her general gameplay …i will put up her inf on sent and basic combo this year but as you said a tutorial on assist use is a really good idea but it would be great if 2 guys like me and you or maybe mookujin and you or mookujin and myself or pdrum would come together and record some games we have and then we try to find parts were one of us really made a smart thing and try to explain how did what and why …like what is a basic gameplan if you are storm facing magneto and how you have 2 play around some assists like capcom or psylocke

for guard cancel, I was really meaning stuff like sentinel HSF or spiral swords. A lot of people don’t jump through it or get around it. the only person that frequently did it to me was preppy, could not lock that guy down at all. I have not watched joo’s videos, so I’ll start on that. the problem is that new people to mvc2 arent going to go to magnetro.com they are going to go to youtube and search for videos there

@ Hannes - probably a series of staple combos for each character / team would be most useful at this point.
I think you got suki cancel confused with guard cancel - a term i never really liked - push block escapes would be more appropriate.
