In FPS’s you can always be shitty with your clan buddies. In fighting games you get to be shitty by yourself.
this is what i’ve realized the most… it took about a month to be in the number one clan in a FPS. damn is this hard… sorry for everyone dissecting my post and getting all offended. i just had to say that so I wouldn’t get the “get a life” comments. relax everybody.
i seriously can’t explain why i get so god damn mad. i’m not even that bad, honestly haha.
Look guys, I don’t want to make anyone else feel like less of a man or anything, but I just figured I’d remind you all that I’m REALLY REALLY COOL.
You shouldn’t get mad. I love losing (except in tournaments ) to a good player, it’s a learning experience in the end. After the loss, ask yourself why you lost, what you did wrong, and what you can do to change it. This is part of the process of getting better at anything. You will lose, and plenty of times. But if you can get up after every loss and learn something in the end, that’s a win in my book. Getting mad online doesn’t even make sense. Who are you trying to prove yourself to? Some anonymous name hundreds of miles away? The only person you should be trying to prove to is yourself. And even when you get to a “skilled/pro/tournament” level or whatever, you will still lose to people, and get your slice of humble pie. That’s the competitive fighting game mindset of improvement and the spirit of this entire genre. The never-ending desire to improve, the determination to rise above all others, the search for the next challenge. :china:
Getting very angry over losing is a common reaction, but its not a healthy one if you want to get better.
You need to set goals for yourself that don’t sound like…
“I need to get x number of wins today…”
“I need to beat this guy…”
“I need to get xth place in this tournament…”
because they aren’t practical. You can’t quantify what it takes to accomplish things like that, so you’ll get angry over it because you won’t know why you haven’t achieved that level. Your goal should always just be self improvement, which is stuff as simple as learning how to get around a certain trick or tactic. You might still lose because your opponent will have a counter to your ability to get around their trick, but it doesn’t mean you haven’t improved and learned. It may sound very zen and silly, but you’ll find yourself able to examine your matches with a clear head instead of simply raging and never thinking.
Only when I’m obviously new at the game, and the other guy mercilessly beats the shit out of me and refuses to answer any of my (polite) questions.
You might notice by the way that my XBL account sparkles that I have a LOT of money. I also have many friends (as evidenced by my Facebook profile).
not to be that annoying noob who is always like “i know but!”
but really, I know not to set goals like “beat this many people today” or something, and I know to learn from my losses. it’s like, i know what they are doing, i can identify the patterns and the like, but I just can’t do a fucking thing about it. it’s probably my inexperience which is having me knowing what to do just not knowing how to do it.
if anyone has a PSN feel free to add me, i’ll be on for a little tonight but I’ve got a shitload and a half of homework then i have to see the girl. mic would be very appreciated, why does no one talk lol.
aHEM
So the other day my girlfriend, who is hot,
Everybody’s getting hostile because you rolled in here with (frankly) a douchebag user name, a douchebag custom title, a douchebag gamertag, and a douchebag post about how your life is so sweet but you just want to be good at SF.
Let me clue you in. I’ve been playing various SF games for about 15 years now, and I’m still garbage at them IMO. There are plenty of people there who have been playing for that long, longer, almost as long, and some of them still aren’t pros either.
This shit takes a lot of time. If you want, feel free to drop in the other thread on the front page here where they’re debating how/why to put in 8 hours a day 5 days a week playing SF to get to a high level of play.
people seem to be confused by my title… it’s not supposed to be like a shit talking name. its implying im better at life than i am at street fighter. i can change it if people are menstruating over it too much.
what? you either aren’t listening, or aren’t applying this shit, or are lazy. there is no hidden trick. if you know all this, then I don’t know what to say, and nobody else on here will be able to help you.
rofl this guy must be in high school or something
PERFECT GRADES OH MAH GAWD HES LIKE TOP TIER IN LIFE
so the other day deadfrog’s girlfriend, who is hot,
Ugh I just get so MAD sometimes!!!
:lovin:
Through my eyes it seems that you’re pretty satisfied with your status in life, the girlfriend that you can’t stop mentioning, good grades, etc. and you’re frustrated and gettin’ mad because you’re not good at fighting games like you are at everything else, apparently. Well consider this an eye-opener for you then, SF levels the playing field for all people from all backgrounds and statuses. Stop getting mad, grow up and step up your game.
…and I’m pretty sure a lot of people on SRK are better at RL than SF.
shiken got it for the most part correct.
yes, i’m in high school.
anyway, pherai want some matches?
My huge salty vagina gushes BLOOD and ANGER.
grabs popcorn
sorry I don’t play online.
I am not a baby god damn it i am a fucking man
