cuz that cnt be Gordon Liu
the actor who was the dude in 36 chambers of death also known as 36 chambers of shaiolin
he looks terrible.
wiki says his age is 66.
and that looks like a feeble 96 year old man.
that cant be him.

btw…that clip is from 2014.
and the wiki doesnt say he is dead.

Gordon had a stroke in 2011. He hasn’t fully recovered, he’s a nursing home apparently.

Tsuba that’s it. I emailed the company about exchanging the bokken and they’ve already given me a refund but the guy never emailed me back about it. So free bokken maybe. I’m still going to look into something nicer though. My sensei has this bokken/saya/wakizashi set he found for like $90 and it’s good quality stuff so im looking into that. I figure if I ever decide to sell it, I’d make a little money on it and it’s always nice to have decent quality gear. But for now, I’m using the boat oar of a bokken

How’s kendo been going?

Late to work because i lost a tooth today. Fucking push kick

How the fuck do you take a push kick to the mouth?

Its daboog, he tried to grapple a push kick, obviously. Hopefully it isn’t a front tooth.

I’m kinda joking, I tend to kick a lot and sometimes my teeps do slide up someone’s chest guard. Also I’m like 6’3", so my solarplexus is as high as some other people’s jaws or collarbones.

Guard down, guy pushes kick my mouth and was trying to crush my face in

Like he went all in on it.

I think it might have been a receipt for the solaplexus shot. These young guys give no shits

It was the tooth next to my implant, so whatevs. But dude threw a push kick to my face like on some hulk hogan shit

That’s not cool. I vote to choke him out at least three times

Kendo going well. Got a chance to play one of the recent All Japan Champions. Which is basically the equivalent of fighting a world champion. It was pretty life changing lol.
Tournament season is coming up soon so I’m getting back into my routine of regular 4-5 times a week hard training. Been running during my off days. My clubs big tournament is coming for November so its grind time. My goal is to win, I came second last time. It would be pretty awesome to win infront of the club. Hows Kenjutsu going? You’re learning Kata now? What type of moves do you typically learn? Do you guys do all the different hits like Men, Kote, Do, Tsuki? How about different stances? Chudan, Jodan etc?

Did some clinch work drills and exercises last Saturday…man they were tiring.

I’m really enjoying my classes, it’s definitely improved my conditioning and cardio which is my goal.

Did some heavy bag work on Sunday at the regular gym.

Trying to figure out the best way to incorporate weights into my routine.

I want to maintain my strength but I think I should be focused more on pulling/rowing than the pushing muscles.

That’s awesome man! I’m looking forward to getting to the point where I can spar but I know next to nothing right now, so that’s a ways off. how many tournaments do you compete in per year?

The class I’m in is going well, We’re working on a lot of the yellow belt stuff right now, like rolls, basic jujutsu stuff, takedowns, locks, punches, etc in addition to a bit of sword stuff. The kata we’ve done are ichi giri and ni giri, and we’ve worked on rolls into draws. All real basic stuff, but the class moves kind of fast, though we review several of the techniques from class to class. Sometimes I’d prefer to spend a single class on 2 or 3 concepts rather than a whole bunch, but I’m the newb so I understand the others would probably get bored if it were tailored to me right now. There are 3 classes a week though and I go to two of them so I’m getting a good bit of time in and enjoying it quite a bit.

Gotch bible

You need to balance push and pull. You work both to strengthen each and become stronger

Balance

Tabata training

Workout like brock lesnar

Thats awesome. My only advice to you would be to start trying to go three times a week. The difference between doing something twice a week vs three times etc. is actually very substantial. I know it seems hard to believe but its the difference between being just ok vs being good. Happy to hear its going well. If you have any questions or tips I’m sure I can probably help
