Remember these:
The kata Hwoarang does is actually called Hwa Rang
lol i knew the dude who did eddy gordo for t3. apparently he got the boot at some point because he refused to do all the crazy breakdancing moves cause its strayed too far from capoeira for him.
The guy who does Hwoarang:
You seem to have an obsession with paedophiles these days.
After countless fights Iâve been involved in at work with homeless people, gang members, drug addicts etc⌠Iâve realised that the most effective straight to the point martial art is boxing. A boxing base with Roman Greco over and under hooking can take you a long way., Kicks are secondary.
Yet, every bouncer Iâve met says punching is stupid.
Bouncing effectively is standup wrestling mostly like Greco/Judo unless you want a lawsuit for giving someone brain damage.
I box though I havenât much over the last year. Shitâs dangerous. Even punches with gloves can knock you out, you eat a blow like that flush with raw knuckles and youâre talking broken bones needing wires in your jaw. Boxing is no joke, only kids who idolise Bruce Lee donât credit the danger of properly executed punches.
Nobody is saying punches donât work, or that boxing is a joke. Itâs the most primal reaction, and people are ingrained to punch for good reason.
This topic has been done to death, tbh.
Done to death or not lots of people donât credit boxing like they should as itâs not exciting enough or itâs just punching when thereâs a lot of technique involved in generating control and power. Boxing isnât just punching.
The footwork, finesse and conditioning is the bigger benefit than a powerful punch, tbh.
Itâs has many benefits, but itâs not the be-all and end-all of stand-up. Youâre fucked if your opponent is smart and drops their forehead to meet your fist, for example.
You donât need a lot of power to break or dislocate a jaw, anyway.
I actually think boxing is very overated as a martial art. If you consider self defence/ street fight, I believe boxing is one of the worse MA you could learn. It has only one big quality: it is very easy to learn.
LOL, who the hell said I was bouncer? Iâm not throwing people out of clubs, Iâm knocking them the fuck out.
Look if youâre being anal one of the biggest benefits in a street fight is completely irrelevant to all martial arts and very well documented, itâs size. Even knowing what youâre doing biggest man usually wins, thatâs why people hire big men for security and why combat sports have weight classes. Iâm not saying a smaller opponent canât win, Iâm just saying being big and having long arms is a huge advantage in a fight.
You can theory-fight for hours but if they drop you can transition a straight into an uppercut from the opposite hand or a hook if they weave. Boxing effectively requires you can move your hips and feet and that requires you to have correct posture so you can distribute weight between the balls of your feet. Much like pitching a baseball a lot of the power isnât just coming from your arm. Knowing how to box allows anyone to hit harder and more accurately than they would otherwise and vulnerable parts of the body donât generally like being hit hard.
Nah man. Itâs not easy, it requires a lot of coordination, itâs like a dance executing your own techniques while responding to theirs. Thatâs like any martial art really but boxing is more practical as you can be wearing jeans and heavy shoes and still do it. Boxing is never bad in a street fight, itâs incredibly practical and effective, certain wrestling styles are just arguably better as they cause less serious damage and can end a fight more permanently without near killing someone. Being able to wrestle is generally better against larger opponents as well as it doesnât matter how big someone is you can still choke them out. While you can still knock out someone much larger than you dealing with the reach disadvantage, elevation and the fact that minor blows are coming from a lot less mass against a lot more padding around vital organs makes it really sub-optimal.
Itâs easy compared to other martial arts because you only learn how to punch, and punching is very natural.
As for the practicality, any MA will help you in a street fight, but I believe there are better options. The fact that you only learn how to punch means you have a limited arsenal. You donât learn how to kick, knee, or hit with your elbow. You donât learn throws or locks. Even worse, you donât learn how to defend against a kick or a throw.
Finally, boxing being a sport means you train under certain rules. You train using boxing gloves (and it is quite different blocking with or without gloves), with a point system and fighting only against one opponent.
This dude legit sound like he learned everything he know about fighting from watching anime XD
Serious question, have you ever been in a street fight? if so, have you ever been in a street fight that you didnât lose?
why not try refuting my arguments instead of going for ad hominem ?
A dude that thinks that smashing your knuckles against bone is the most natural thing in the world doesnât deserve the time of day to be refuted. Just staph bro.
