im more og than some, less og than others, been registered since '06 lurked from 2 k before that, overall liked f.net better… they had a chick (akumachan) posting and owning fools, never posted there much either though, didnt have a computer. only decided to join srk because my offline comp dwindled but i still loved fighting games.

i’d consider anyone that lurked old f.net or srk back in the day to be og… just dont necessarily have the credentials of an '00 or '01 member.

if you didnt at least lurk back in those days but have been lurking before sf4… then you are oldschool… but maybe not og… though at that point its semantics.

in srk you are only truly og if you have a join date of '00 or '01.

since i was entered into and competed in that first tournie where daigo and valle first played. i consider myself og, and dont care who wants to deny me that… im 35 years old and have been playing since '91

The old SRK forum was a war zone. Everyone was unforgiving. A lot of the threads you’d go into would have flames running rampant with people constantly raping each other in the face. I joined GD a bit later in Mar 2003. It was a good era to take part in. Was there for the Bloofy saga, people busting nuts over Beatrice, S.AM(?) owning RC $$ due to unpostable Akuma thread, Roxie getting beasted, SPAC LOCK & ESC PLAN ms paint drawings, Gaia forum warfare (which was stupid as they have infinitely more members) and a whole bunch of things already mentioned. Not sure if GD changed or my interest has, but the forum does not seem nearly as addictive as once before.

Oh yeah remember SRK’s old catchphrase “competive edge”? Shit went unnoticed and then Christmas was ruined when someone made a thread spotting out the typo.

…actually, I’d consider that the “Golden Age” of SRK GD.

I think everyone posted here more than they did Fighters.net. I mean, was there anyone at FNet who didn’t also post at SRK? FNet was a good forum… actually, it was my first forum, so it’s sentimental to me I guess. But to be honest, SRK was always more fun. They tried to hard to make FNet different from SRK; In other words: tame. And with the same people posting, it just wasn’t as entertaining. Heh, I still remember cka updating the news about FNet going down once and for all, from his Dreamcast. I was bummed to see the place go.
