I used to play it in the local arcade all the time. First character picked was Blanka. I lurked here for years before I posted, and when I did, it was only in the Seth and Bison forums after SFIV vanilla came out. Didn’t post in the other forums for a year or more

I’ve played since SF2WW, but I wasn’t competitive until 2k3 in MvC2 and Super Turbo. I was 7 (1992, assuming) when I first touched WW on an arcade cabinet… Before that, I used to play Tempest and Gyruss… I know I got it on SNES for my 8th birthday though.
I’ve been lurking here for a few years but I consider my self a pretty OG fighting game player.
I was playing original SF2 way back in Japanese arcades when the game first came out.
I remember hanging out and dominating the arcades with Kenji Umehara and his little brother Daigo (you know which Daigo I’m talking about).
It seems like only yesterday that I was teaching Daigo how to throw a proper Hadouken, now he is all Madcatz, big-time parry video and stuff like that.
Brings a tear to my eye thinking about how my student has surpassed his sensei.
