Lurked here and mmcafe, HerV, etc. since at least 2001 before 9/11, joined sometime in early 2003 but different account/computer and continued to lurk and read up on Viscant’s/s-kill’s/shoutzla’s, etc. threads. Forgot the credentials after my power supply had a meltdown and fried my tower, thus rejoined in the start of 2005 to get the info for a Third Strike tourney. I was still mostly fighting at CTF and the other NYC arcades (RIP) before online competition became the status quo, so my online presence only increased as the physical time inside a brick & mortar arcade waned. I still remember the greatest advice Justin gave me, “Stop using Legion.”
I mean I may be one of those 09ers who loves delving into OG knowledge and I’ve been one of those kids who played pretty much every single video game I could get my hands on, but I didn’t actively take fighters to a higher level until BB:CT. Before I learned about FG communities on the internet, I never felt like I had enough FG exposure because I was always super jealous of those players that knew people to play with and had arcades to go to.
The best I could do back then was playing Melee and Soul Calibur 2 with my brother and friends. I guess I had some pretty good Jigglypuff footsies for somebody who didn’t play competitively because Jiggs was always my best.
I mean I guess I’m old in a way though, thought not nearly enough to be OG status. I’ve seen so much happen here since I regged in 09.
Not an OG SRK Member one bit. I lurked as I didn’t find any reason to join. I was too busy playing in the arcades and then disappeared from the arcade scene in '96.
Lurked before SF4 for 3rd strike info since that was the main game, and only played game at my college (it was rigged to free play mode)
Made an account during SF4 and lurked some more for info.
Made my first Thread Post on Skullgirls
I dont consider myself SRK OG just interested in fighting games. I mainly hung around arcades to gather most of the info personally and make new friends. SRK was there for extra info. never cared for posting unless i felt like what i had to say contributed in some aspect.
