I first joined SRK back in the early 2000s around the time Fighters.net was still up and going*. I remember coming here and hating how everything was organized (or lack thereof). Really gave me no reason to come back.
I’d actually love to use my handle from back then, but I have no idea what the PW is and I’m sure I don’t have access to that email address anymore.
I feel like I’m OG. I joined during the last years of the “golden age” for Capcom fighters(MvC2. CvS2, 3s).
Just a side note. Round of applause to The Shend. Can’t believe he is STILL uploading 3s vids. I remember watching his vids back in High School roughly 6 years ago, like damn how time flies. I have his channel subscribed, but had forgotten so I must have looked up some SF vids or video game vids, and some vids he had recently uploaded came up related when I went back to my home page. Shock. 3s was my shit. And whatever happened to YeahDood120% and his brother? They both used to be getting off in 3s…

Anyway yeah I remember some of the MvC2 drama. Especially the entire Dark Prince situation. Funny enough the ENTIRE saga is still uploaded in its entirety on Youtube. Amongst other things. The funnniest stories were always the MvC2 one’s. Dude’s would be fucking heated in FGD. And always the I heard a story from a guy who heard a story from a guy who heard the story from some guy that was shouting from the fucking bat cave that such and such showed up with his boys at the arcade, and they trapped on some niggas. Don’t remember
2nd gen here (2004), by way of combovideos.com (KYSG vids, son!), as well as orochinagi, cyberfanatix, and the art of fighting database. Alpha 3, Mark of the Wolves, SNK games dating back to Fatal Fury, and CvS 2 were my games. In the 90’s I played Sf 2 on a big screen (later learned it was a showcase cab) at the Redondo Beach Pier where I saw this cat fight Bison on the intro stage/screen instead of Thailand. I’ve mentioned it here once or twice, but no one else has come across it. My favorite thread here was the crazy story thread, with the chronicles of Stuckey, Sifu V, and especially Shaft Agent with the story of the crazy ass foster kids who wanted his ass. Horrible that the thread disappeared without a trace. The SonThemAll debacle was hilarious to say the least.
