I admit, when I got my Switch and first open up my copy of Breath of the Wild the first thing I did was lick the game cart.
I wanted to see what all the commotion was about for my self. And the only real way to do so is try out it.

Yes it tasted bitter, but not so bad that I felt I was going to be sick.
As a lover of beer, and being adventurous with food and drink I had my share of overly hoppy beer before (mostly from shit microbrewers who use Hops to cover their own mistakes).
The taste is no way as bitter as people say it is, but I can see this working with pets and small children from accidentally swallowing a game card.
