all the good cheat codes are gone Replaced by DLC and grinding.
yup cheat codes = DHC now. Itās sad really.
PC versions of Skyrim, Fallout, Source games, etc have console commands if you want to count that.
Grinding isnāt bad since its been in gaming since Nintendo, but DLC replacing Cheat Codes does break my heart. Itās basically saying gamers whine so much about not having instant access to this special character/item/weapon that companies just give in and offer it to them at a cost. Think how better it wouldāve been if you could unlock Oni & Evil Ryu instead of paying $20 bucks for them and the twins. How much better would SFxT be if Capcom had spun it so that you had to earn/unlock their on-disc content? It gives you a sense of accomplishment along with just the players YOU want instead of forcing you to ābuy in bulk.ā
Then again, most gamers are soft these days. Put a game like Contra or Battletoads in front of them and theyāll bitch more than a FOX News correspondant and quit quicker than Sarah Palin.
NG+++ on both games so⦠I mean⦠Probably know what Iām talking about.
Have a cheat code? Shit, I can pay for the game to beat itself now.
I miss cheat codes though.
Hey no home rules.
Delayed Hyper Combo is not ācheatingā
Iām surprised so many of you miss cheat codes. The game mods people have created (and profited from) make the capabilities of cheat codes pale in comparison. And as so many people have mentioned, who needs an invincibility cheat in any modern game?
lololol I was wondering who would catch that.
gambit glitch is the only cheat you need
Jokes, jokes, jokes.
Not that Iām complaining, but:
Man, everyone in SRK is a comedian these days.
Also you can buy your way too the top now a.k.a gems.
I was playing Sonic Mega Collection on Gamecube with my wifeās niece and nephew. I did the stage select code for Sonic and they were like wtf was that. Then I said it was a cheat code. Then I explained what a cheat code was to them and how games in my day had them. Then I heard Pearl Jam on the classic rock station. Then I found a couple gray hairs.
if theres a cheat code for beating AI rogue on mvc2 pls pm it to me
Games need to bring back the big Head mode and crazy skin switch codes(like making all the enemies yeti or pirates or something like that), they may not be cheats but they do make the games funny as hell.
The last game I know that used big head mode was Arkham City:

Man, I love cheats.
Theyāre the reason Iāve never beaten a GTA game.
Nothing like bursting thru 5 star wanted rating in a lambo just to get a suit for my character
raises hand
I get motion-sick really easily with 3d games (technically this is called āsimulator sicknessā), so while Portal is fucking awesome, I can barely play a level before I get motion sick. I love game design and so sometimes enjoy putting myself into God Mode via memory editing and etc so that I can just enjoy the game design without having to sweat through grinding a single level for four hours when itās going to give me headaches for the next day. =P Iām the Interested Casual Player: thatās why I recorded a billion hours of Marvel but yet still lose to Timmy The Jittering Cripple - Iām never going to take it seriously. Thatās exactly the kind of person in-game cheat games are excellent for.
As regards modern cheat codes: for the NG consoles, theyāre kind of banned because itād cause huge problems for everybody else. For hand-held consoles, they still make the Game Genie style devices: I have one for my DS Lite. For offline PC, there are a variety of third party utilities you can use: trainers for online games, code hacking for Facebook games, and other randomness.
Man, I used to write down cheat codes from those game magazines they had in convenience stores back in the day. Looking back on it, I think that may have been illegal.
Yes there is. I remember Dead RIsing 2: Off the Record had cheats, but hereās the catchā¦THEY WERE DLC AND YOU HAD TO BUY THEM!
Vergil and Zero make those two characters look like their Dan-tier.
I dont get it
