DLC Characters you would like to see

Eagle all the way. Or any new character/re-introduction of some of the old SF1 characters that were left in the dust.

Oh shit, I opened this thread just so I could be the one guy that wanted to see Eagle! I owned with that mofo in CvS2!

-Bean

Yun/Yang (SFIII play-style; Yang selected with K)
Rolento (FF/SFA character)
Elena (3S version; completes SFIII female cast)
Karin (Sakura’s main rival)
R. Mika (light grappler)

40 characters

Elena, Karin, R. Mika

Evil Ryu, Evil Ken, Good Akuma, and Evil Sakura.

I doubt DLC is going to happen but I really wanna see Hugo, Mika and Elena.

Or Q. Q would be awesome.

Put Elena in there.

Yun and Yang.

Karin Karin Karin Karin Karin Karin Karin Karin Karin Karin Karin Karin Karin Karin Karin Karin Karin Karin Karin Karin Karin Karin Karin Karin Karin Karin Karin Karin Karin Karin Karin Karin Karin

The main problem with the 3S characters being DLC is that most of them are comprised of shared movesets between characters that are already available in SSF4.

Necro is obviously Dhalsim/Blanka, Elena’s pretty much Cammy/Chun, Sean is Dan/Abel (wheel kick, command throw), Yang is Fei Long with a dive kick, Q is Boxer, and Remy is Guile (a poor version at that.) As much as I would love to see the 3s characters in SSF4, there’s not too much value in adding movesets that are already available. Yun, Alex, Oro, and to a lesser extent, Hugo would be the only truly distinctive assets to the cast from 3S as DLC.

(I’d mention Twelve as well, but he’s terrible in comparison to the available movesets.)

If I had to chose one character it’d probably be Rolento or Alex.

Rolento because he was fun as hell to play in alpha series and I’d love to see his animations in SSF4.

Alex because I wanna hear a remix of Jazzy NYC (They’d probably F it up but still  ) and he’s the main character of SF3, come on we need some DDT action in here…“Weak!” (If I see “NO U NOOB ABEL=ALEX”)…no. Abel isn’t Alex in the slightest. two totally different chars. :bluu:

Q is as similar to Balrog in playstyle as Ryu is to Ken. Clearly they shouldn’t have both of them in the game, either. Hell, Q’s normals don’t even resemble Balrog’s. They just both have dash punches, and that’s all they have in common.

Oh, and obv. I want Q. :stuck_out_tongue:

Oro!!!

Man, for some reason, I thought there wasn’t going to be much love for Q.

Q, Urien, Twelve and Oro

Oro and Q. two of the weirdest and coolest sf fighters period. i mean, oro is so fucking strong he has to fight with one arm behind his back or else he might kill his opponent and he’s like 145 years old. that is just too bad ass for sf4.

this argument never works. we have so many shoto clones in sf4 but god forbid we have another stretchy character or wrestler or whatever. besides, there are more differences between necro and dhalsim or Q and boxer than there is for ryu and ken. get over it.

I’m not saying they’re identical. I’m saying that the movesets are so similar that there would be very little gained by adding him, as the difference in playstyle would minuscule. (Considering that taunts don’t do anything in this game.)

his taunt can be like hakan’s oil up move. they basically got the idea from Q anyways.

Yeah because regular Ryu is disturbingly naive and weak the same with regular Akuma. You think this is about looks??

Necro, Elena, Yang and Q have way more differences than they have similarities. Sure, they share a move with SF2 characters, but the way they play is completely different.

Necro shares Blanka’s electricity and has stretchy limbs, but his game is juggle heavy, relying on his revolving spin, and mixing up with his jumping overhead and long-range command grab, a kind of move which none of the characters in SSF4 have.

Yang only shares rekkas with Fei. You might as well say that Fei and Abel are too similar and shouldn’t be in the same game. Instead of trying to confirm rekkas off of chicken wing, Yang hypothetically wants to dive kick pressure and connect cr.mk. He also has a teleport, a long range anti-air and his force push…which is nothing like the rest of Fei’s moveset.

Q and Boxer are nothing alike. He has a rush punch, but that’s where the similarities end. He has a command grab which leads to wall juggle, hand swipes and a unique, taunt-heavy playstyle that can probably be implemented like Hakan’s oil or Dudley’s rose. In fact, the two are like polar opposites. Boxer has great combos off of jab, and likes to push buttons. He’s a very quick character with great rushdown. Q on the other hand just wants to taunt and turtle all day, waiting for an opening.

And honestly, I don’t see how Elena is like Chun or Cammy at all. Elena shares zero moves with either of them. Chun has great footsies and easy ultra confirms, Cammy has a furious rushdown and moves that cover a long distance. Elena has good pokes too, and her moves cross the field…but you might as well be saying Dictator plays too much like Chun-Li or Rufus plays too much like Cammy. Unlike Cammy, and partially Chun, Elena is very EX-reliant. Her EX specials all link into one another. Not to mention the fact that she also has Healing…which makes her and Gill (so really only her) the only two characters who can regain health.

You say that there’s no point adding characters with movesets already in the game, but IMHO, these SF3 characters will add way more diversity than detract from it. Take the case-in-point of Ryu, Ken and Akuma. They share all their special moves and quite a few normals, but the different properties inherent in each make them unique and different enough to warrant a change in playstyle.

Remy is just gay Guile. Two-legged flash kick and tiger shot booms are cool though.

Quoted for truth. He’s also a charge character, not many good ones left there.
