Best possibility would be…November, December possibly January, considering the Arcade SSF4 will be released in October, and we’ll get any new characters put in that later, November would probably be the best guess.

Vice versa. They’ll probably only add characters via DLC initially if they end up adding them to the Arcade release first.
The new characters will HAVE to come out before the arcade is released; if the arcade is released before the “DLC” then Id bet money there will be no new chars this iteration.
I’ll bet money that the DLC characters will be put out on the Arcade version FIRST in an effort to get people to have more of a solid, substantial reason to really want to go to the arcade. Gotta learn the matchups as early as possible! Then they’ll become DLC 2-3 months later.

And they should make the general population aware of this, so as to get the community to start begging their local spots to actually purchase the Arcade version.
if they released an update (eg super 4 turbo) with dlc charcaters ,costumes etc… and you bought it (if you wouldn’t you shouldn’t be here)
then they released it (a complete up to date all inclusive version) on disc later would you buy it?
i’d rather have another disc release, pay extra and have a box, manual and disc than have a version of street fighter exist purely as data.
Except where Ono said that if the Arcade version has new characters, he said they would make them DLC later on…it’d be moronic to do the DLC first, it’d take away half the purpose of the Arcade release.

We need Karin back. She was forgotten in Capcom’s eyes ever since they released that horrible game, Capcom Fighting Evolution/Capcom Fighting Jam. They have basically shunned her after that game and hasn’t appeared as a playable character since then, this is why I am really looking for Karin for a DLC character.
R.Mika is also pretty up there in terms of making it as a DLC character since she’s one of Ono’s favorites.
Even though Rolento isn’t one of my fondest characters, it’ll be “interesting” to see him in SSFIV.
Alex needs to be in SSFIV to at least bridge over the SFIV to SFIII, in terms of the SF timeline.
I’m also trying to think of a good character to bridge over from the EX series. I’d really like to see at least 2 from the EX series, like Skullo and another character, just think of a good one right now.
Batsu from Rival Schools would be nice to see, but it will be better if they created a new Rival Schools game.

Why does everyone want Karin?And what about R.Mika?Why is her so high up in the chances of a DLC character?She kinda has horrible gamplay design, and would definetly bee one of the worst characters in the game.(if not tthe worst).Hakan at least some some interesting new mechanics.Instead of her, they could bring better characters, like some more 3rd strike cast, like Makoto (I mean the real Makoto, not whatever this is that we got), Urien, or Q.Q would also be generally bad, but he’s a much more interesting character from a design point and move-set point than R.mika .She just has retarded moves with no purpose what-so ever.

Why is Mika high up? Because Ono has been in Capcom’s ear the last 2 years trying to get her into the game. I really doubt they’ll ignore him this time since they don’t have to sell the game with her advertising it. Elena’s a lock considering she was the last one out for this game, I’d also put money on Rolento (who Ono was also pitching for). It’s basically, who will be the fourth/fifth character (don’t see them going past that)? Hugo or Karin wouldn’t surprise me. After that, who knows?
I would loosen up about story line issues in SF4. Clearly the SF3 story has been invalidated by the SF4 series (Bison lives, Makoto and Ibuki are not preteens, Seth exists, etc). Remember what S-Kill said, a lot of these SF games take place in alternate realities.
Once again they don’t usually magically insert new data on to the disc. The DLC content was on the disc already in some form you usually just paid to unlock it. That being said most of these character suggestions here are wishful thinking and it’s pretty obvious if they do DLC who will be the DLC characters.
So if they add DLC characters wouldn’t they have to include DLC characters music, trials, icons, titles, storymode videos, costumes ect?

because many people here are total idiots who have seen someone mention that named char whatever it be r.mika, karin or rolento and they think they will be cool and be considered one of the hardcores to mention that character and hyping it up
also they wont be playing that said shit character instead of people like me who think that the whole sf4 cast is utter shit and only see joy if the real third strikers comes in such as Urien, Necro and Alex these guys makes sense since they are powerful chars
Alex has good pokes and his tick throw would be better translated in to the sf4 engine
Urien (even without charge partitioning…maybe they could change one charge time so he can do one juggle or whatever) solid pokes and a bad ass character
Necro can be an offensive beast and would also translate well in this game
