I’d only order them “Necro, Hugo, Rolento, Urien and possibly Alex”.

If they are free and mandatory I wouldn’t care but asking me to download addition to my fighting game months after my initial purpose is ridiculous. Fighting game characters are the mechanics essentially of a fighting game, making you download more is like making me download the ability to aim in an FPS. In most cases the dlc model involves you paying to unlock a piece code on the dic you already bought which sounds like a rip off. They don’t magically give you a new piece of content obviously. Lets not even mention the potential balance ramifications something like this can have or some members the community not being experience enough with one match-up cause they couldn’t download the character will others have the advantage cause they did.
Ask anyone who’s worked in the game industry and they’ll tell you they’ve been at work on the weekends more times than they would like to admit. Not entirely for the reason you give though. Usually the complete opposite, really.
EDIT: Though I do agree with your premise, new characters will not be free.

if there was a new character, i’d like a shoto that focused on kicks. but someone fast like ken, except none of this dragon punch bullshit. it doesn’t matter who i play online, ken, ryu, akuma, they all mash dp. i wanna see a chun li-esque shoto. sounds retarded.
but for returning characters, Rolento a must, no R.Mika, enough grapplers, yun/yang, Charlie (come on now), and i personally just wanna see Birdie and Sodom, just for the hell of it.
I’m a little skeptical of that simply because of the huge balancing ramifications of such a paid DLC, things like costumes work because they’re simply cosmetic, but paid DLC characters have a serious chance of putting the game in the “pay to win” area that I really don’t think Capcom would want to go to, especially in a game as srsbzns as Street Fighter is.

I’m sure they had plenty of deadlines to meet. The new DLC characters will be free of charge most likely.
I want more 3s chars. I dont like Alpha chars, they seem too “standard” to me, we have a ssft full cast(and Gen, Guy, Cody…) - its enough.
There was info that Hugo will be in, its pretty cool. But R. Mika and Rolento? No.
Hugo, Remy, Q, Urien, Necro will be great.
King Cobra,Rolento and Alex would be an insane lineup.

Ok i get oro i get yun hugo (although i think it would be a crap load of work considering he is in the background of metro city) i get relento and just about all of the other. But could some one please explain to me why the hell we would want r. mika in the game really elana makes more sense considering we already have her stage why would you want r.mika?
