DjWheat Vs Kotaku

Both of the involved are terrible so who cares.

Seeing how stupid Kotaku staff are, I doubt they would even get that right.

Wheat getting upset over nothing.

Yet another reason Kotaku is moronic.

While I agree with Esports being a horrible term for competitive gaming I think you are missing the point. She is saying that competitive gaming is horrible to watch and on the decline when she is completely wrong. How many more people we have watching streams and going to fighting game events nowadays? It is embarrassing that a paid writer would publish something like this without research and any other sources.

People should be upset over this. This has spawned other articles on other sites drawing attention to competitive gaming like PC gamer. http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/07/07/editorial-why-i-love-pro-gaming/

The term esports is just a name it came from a decade ago when people tried to coin it. Its almost like discovering your parent’s old photos and laughing at the horrible haircuts they had back then except they forced you to have the same haircut.

Oh no, I understand the point. The author of that Kotaku article was writing out of ignorance, and was rightly called out for it. I’m just saying that E-Sports is a term that’s somewhat detrimental to competitive gamings’ image IMO, and thus that the term should stop being thrown around.

I don’t see way. Sport is competition, and e-sport is an easy way to denote a subset of sport. Kinda like how a hamburger is a subset of sandwich. Math and food are fun.

E sports is here to stay. There is a friggin article about it on 8th grade state tests. Endure it

Who the hell is DjWheat?

Nah, scratch that, I don’t actually care.

IPW posted a pretty good response

claims to have insider information on marvel 3, hasn’t heard of popular esports commentator. yup.

Ewww quit following me, you’re like that fly that keeps hovering around the picnic table, eyeing the hamburgers and hot dogs just sitting out in the open, just waiting for that one opportune moment when everyone gets up to play a three legged race around the small pond that has been infested with pond scum and ridden with duck feces.

hahahaha you fucking moron

How does this even correlate?

“Claims to know about basketball, hasn’t heard about Tory Lanez. yup.”

I liked DJ Wheat before he got into Starcraft 2.

currently a really popular starcraft 2 commentator

Oh that’s cool, I thought he was some pompous ass or something.

he’s that too

Oh. Well go figure~

He has been around pro gaming scene for a long time. I think he is part of EG or was because he always with Sir Scoots (owner team EG) and always interviewed their team members.

His interview of Justin and Marn

also, he wasn’t well received when he first started doing Starcraft

Still worth supporting over Kotaku though.
