It’s been way too long for most of us to deal with the banks and credit card companies. After a few months go by they can’t do anything. At this point we’re just stuck hoping he redeems himself.
well… given that’s really his car in the picture, you guys do have his license plate number (under windshield) so it won’t be too hard finding him.
I’d still recommend contacting your credit card companies and filing fraud reports / trying for chargebacks. You may not get your money but it gets the ball rolling on criminal charges.
I called my bank and filled a fraud report this morning. Not much they can do to actually recover the money, but said it would be investigated. Should have the paperwork within a day or so.
I think I may have been the last guy to get a stick.

These guys are around though. Find Toan or whoever at one of these tournaments, or just call these guys. You may not be able to get at Matrix, but these other guys can. If they don’t want to help out others in the community to save their shady friend’s ass, well something needs to be done about that.

Yeah he disappeared on me like a week after I paid him and he didn’t respond to any of my PMs at which point I had to threaten to get paypal involved and then he shipped it to me quick lol.

I actually met this person at A-kon a couple of years ago. He offered to mod a friend’s t5 stick, said he had some life troubles about 2 months later, and hasn’t said anything since. He seemed like a cool guy and my friend didn’t really use the stick anyway so it wasn’t a big thing.
Now that I’ve read this, It would seem he makes some cash off of it. Hopefully we’ll see him there this year so he can answer some questions.
So what now? I really hope we won’t be letting much more time go by before attempting to resolve this for good. Getting cheated out of over $160 is not fun. Wherever this guy is, I highly doubt there is no cyber caf or some place where he can access the Internet and get on AIM or respond to PMs or this thread. Unless he’s bedridden in the hospital and unable to move (or gone) there’s just no reason I can see for him not face the music (the clients), not that I would wish that upon him.
There is a lot of proof in this thread of his dealings with people, and my IM client automatically logs all my conversations so I got specific proof there of my situation. It really looks like we’ll have to get legal on this guy if he doesn’t show up…real soon…because as things stand now, nothing is getting done. We need to be thinking of the next CoA and not just discussing how messed up this whole thing is. Can anyone from Texas confirm whether the name and physical address he gave was definitely his? It seems we at least got his real license plate number.
I know Johnny personaly, and to find out about all of this is quite shocking to be honest. I am not going to try to take any ones side since, there are always two sides to every story. I just hope that everyone is compensated in some way shape or form. When I last talk to him, he did recently get his car back, and mentioned he would start working on peoples sticks. I personally have not seen him in about two weeks, but if I can get any information for you guys I will.
This whole thing has been victim to his lack of communication since the start. One SRK post every month, if even that, is not permissable when you’re accepting hundreds of dollars from people, for things which they’re only accepting on faith and your reputation that they’ll actually even get…
It’s kinda sad, I sold this guy some RAM back when I first joined SRK and he paid the same day he told me he was interested. Too bad he flaked out on everyone. I hope you all get your sticks or money back.
