Discrimination Against Anime Fighting Games

Many will just not touch games that look like Arcana Heart. It is a matter of preference. For instance, I favor

cos that’s what I saw when I was a kid, probably. I do not find kids in fighting positions interesting in cartoons as much as I do not find kids in fighting games. When Alpha was released, it did not make much sense to me why some school girl (Sakura) should ever be fighting Ryu or others. The view is actually quite simple: in SF1 and SF2, one had this adult martial artist in karate gi who trained karate for all his life. This other martial artist in sumo outfit who trained sumo for all his life. Some elite army guy with cammo outfit who is great at fighting. A woman in a dress who trained Kung Fu all her life. There was Blanka, sure, but the norm was experienced, heavily trained fighters. Then in Alpha 2 they fight Sakura, a girl still in school, whose underwear appears all the time. Some felt it did not match.

explain this to me before i eat you. if you like gg more that’s fine, but calling bb weaker, less deep? yeah explain yourself. i’m tired of people saying this with no explanation. let’s get to the bottom of this.

He’s banned so he can’t explain at the moment.

And BB vs GG is off-topic.

Just buy the guy a beer. Problem solved.

I think it’s the fact that the cast for many of these games tend to be full of loli or loli-looking girls. No other character archetypes = mehhh…

that’s the first thing that comes to mind.

I don’t watch anime since I am like 7 or 8, but I like the overall look of it.

But… , I feel really weird playing a game where I only play as 10 to 14 year old girls in which the game finds the major amount of possibilities to show their underwear and put them in “provocative” poses.

And japanese songs with vocals are really cheesy for me :S.

i just wanted to put the sheep in his place real quick.

It makes me sad that games like Arcana Heart 3 and Blazblue aren’t taken seriously at tournaments. It really angers me that Blazblue is not on the main list of game that will be played at Evo this year. The best I’ve heard is that we’re getting a side tournament for these games and I’m sure that not many people will enter them anyway, so why bother.

Anime games make the fighting genre’s awesome because of its unque game engine/mechanics, character designs, and combo abilities. I’m a huge anime fan and it upsets me that people just this game because it’s to “provocative” because the girls are underage, or cheesy, and stupid.

I was planning to go to Evo for Blazblue this year, but now I’m not really as hype about it as much anymore.

Not many people entered BB last year when it was a main event, but that’s not due to it being an anime game.

  1. SO unique that everyone in japan who isn’t named Capcom, SNK, Namco or Sega just has to copy them

  2. " I am a Little Girl/Nerd, who probably shouldn’t be fighting and act like i am not, but i still do damage" #1231263512735
"EMO teen who hates everything and is alone all of the time" #5236756375123
    "Loli" #78329748923748234723897423642374329846327473247324723947329473242349327432492374324792346234294723947926423647324329473284723847328947832473289473824782374328784932794327947329732979.1

  3. Whatevs, but if 3 million games come out with the same shit, then people are gonna start to hate it. That is the reason, with the exception of BBBR, that i hate ALL anime games. Call of duty of fighters. Everyone wants to be like them, no one can do it right.

This is what the last like 200 posts looked like to me

Yeah, I think we’ve danced around enough.

See all you bums in 2 months when you forget about this topic and drag it all out again.
