Disconnect rage quit common?

First off I’d just like to clarify that I’m a total scrub just looking to get better. My BP skill wise is probably 1000 or lower. In an effort to step up my game I’ve decided to play ranked matches online against people much higher in rank than me (usually). It seems the majority of player are in the 1500-2500 range, which is hopefully where I will be by the end of the summer. Anyways, I’m use to losing most of my matches, as I usually only win about 1/3 or 1/4 of these matches, and the BP gain to loss is pretty much even. The problem I am having though is people disconnecting (possibly unplugging power or router) when I’m about to win a match. If the first match is close, and I win the second match, I say more than 50% of the time the person will just disconnect right after. I guess I’m just wondering if this is a common thing, seems pretty childish, not that online rank really matters anyways.

TLDR: I have a low rank, when I’m about to beat people higher rank they usually just DC.

Get used 2 it my friend, people rage quit, its just the way it is. I don’t played ranked at all myself but some people think there bp is gold so they pretty much do whatever it takes 2 hold onto it.

you lose a lot of points when you ragequit

in SSFIV you lose a lot more points for rage quitting, unlike Marvel where you can rage quit with no consequences or even worse Street Fighter: Volt where you can ragequit at the touch of a button LOL it happens literally every other ranked match in that game.
