Dignity caught on tape: Dudley Video Thread

I made a crappy little video showing a safe jump and an option select to test out how well my webcam records my TV. Still, theres some info in there.

found a really old video of me using dudley at my first ssf4 tournament

also an old video of me using dudley when i first started maining him a couple of months back in chinatown arcade fair vs pr balrog

hah that really shouldnt work though. lol He was at passed the peak of his jump and IN THE AIR when the other guy did throw . @_@

Still if timed right (earlier jump) that does work against whiffed command grabs. With the right timming its only possible to do nuetral jump Hk Xx Standing Hk against regular grabs. Ultras too slow.

Anyone know if they videod any of the matches at Alex’s Arcade?

Grand Finals at tournament in new york …

anyway here is the braggnig rights video after

nice matchs man, but why weren’t you punishing blanka balls with fierce mgb ? the ex one requires a cheaper timing… and you could’ve go for the kill on like 2 rounds with that

Probably because Fierce MGB is a safer way to punish the balls, as timing the EX MGB can be tricky.

Personally, I also punish with Fierce MGB for the same reason.

Oh and thanks once again to Liquid for sharing his matches.

Here’s a match with me and biozombiex23 (I think he’s a vega player)

Fuck Blanka. And yeh, missing the EX MGB punish on a blocked ball = you taking a shit ton of damage. The HP MGB is way easier to land.

yea plus i was nervous fucked my whole game

Work on them nerves liquid. You just let him jump in on you pretty much the whole time.

That is dudley’s problems already imo, I’m used to go for c.hp as an anti air, ryu, vega, sakura, blanka, any charactater with a good jumpin will beat it, I used to play balrog on vanilla, there were no such problems with his c.hp, there is always s.mk, but the damage never get then scared from random jump ins, and if they do it while you trying to poke, gg…

cr.HP and st.MK are some of the best anti airs about.

Not sure if I’m just doing it late but Ryu and Ken’s j. HK seem to beat my c. HP attempts.

A lot of people seem to forget that Dudley has an uppercut, while it’s lack of invincibility without the use of EX meter seems crappy, most jump in that are horizontal will get stuffed by it. You also have Cross counter [EX hurts even more cause they’ll lose about a quarter of life of a normal jump-in attempt] and if you think that the damage is not going to get them scared, damage is damage; They get hit, you keep them out, what more are you looking for.

Mr. X: Yeah, I think you’re doing it late.

What’s even funnier is when you trade FP for whatever they’re jumping in with. When they see the difference between what they did and what you did, they think twice about jumping back in. Sometimes FP even flat out beats whatever they do. Keep it in mind.

cr.HP isn’t that great in this game, it gets beaten cleanly by a lot. Performing it early helps a lot, but even then, it can often still be beaten.

Stand MK is generally Dudley’s best anti-air, but cr.HP is still useful, you just learn the ranges where it works. It hits a little further horizontally than the Stand MK, whereas Stand MK hits further vertically.

EDIT:

Here’s a video from a Japanese Dudley player called xAPO20X against Nemo. Pretty good watch:

im loving the s.rh buffer with ex machinegun blow for counter hits, god like

I find cr.HP is better as an anti cross up AA.

And yes, don’t be afraid to use Dudley’s uppercut. even if you trade with it, you can still duck Straight into a combo big enogh to discourage them from ever jumping again

What’s with these crazy japs ending EX MGB combos in ducking straight and not even following them up with the other juggle?
