I went to E Spot 1 time a couple of months ago, and to be honest I had a great time and everything. However, it just takes too damn long on the path train from new york city to new jersey. If I can get a ride from nyc to espot i am down to go this friday.
yo, that ex thunderbolt was hella slick to take out Aulord.
Rare footage of Dudley doing well in a tournament!

a pretty good dudley. I tried that using c.fp after a jump in and LOVING it so far. it’s like a built in frame trap. I dont’ agree with all the fadcs, his liberal use of ultra for minimal damage, or his corner combos, but his game is solid still.
Yeah that guy was pretty good, I agree with everything you said.
Tagging the Ultra 2 on the end of the EX MGB is definitely worth it as long as you do the MK Ducking Straight to get the maximum number of hits.

Yeh the FADCs are pointless. And I don’t know why the Japs are obsessed with ending combos with Ducking Straight. It doesn’t leave you in an advantageous position.
he wasn’t do that, so he wasn’t getting the full hits off the combo. And he usually does a longish string so the ultra doesn’t even do a that much damage even if all the hits landed. It’s similar to how Rog players stopped doing c.lp x3, c.lk xx headbutt, ultra, cause the damage just isn’t there and the ultra can be used as a threat still.
Ah this guy again. I call him “Mr. Duck Straight” as he loves combo-ing into that move.
This guy is fun to watch, his blockstrings and pressure game are really good. He also has some nice safe jump setups and OS’s. But yeah, he needs to combo into EX MGB over Duck Straight if the has the opportunity to do so!
Thanks for the vids regardless!
You need an account with them. Pasting the URL into this site is easier than wading through the japanese though. http://mmcafe.com/nico.html
Edit: Fuck forgot the URL
However there is some website that allows you to watch niconico without having an account that has been posted in this thread. Someone will probably sigh then repost it.
It makes me somewhat happy that even high level players make that mistake trying to chip them to death with an EX MGB and get stuffed with an ultra. I need to stop doing that!
You have a kick ass Dudley though. Puts mine to shame, but I’m learning!
ok, i’ve started adding Videos of good Dudleys to the OP. Link videos of good japanese Dudleys if you have 'em.
Dunno if this has been posted yet, just got it in my subscriptions.
sigh
Nicovideo Redirector
Everyone who hunts and posts Nicovideos should just post this along with their findings haha.

interesting one, with that said
i think iam done with dudley for a while
Some things I do not understand. Why do you keep empty ducking in blockstrings when you know it’s not safe? Why do you always do f.HK > c.lp > c.lp > s.hk xx whatever, when it’s perfectly possible to hitconfirm with one c.lp, which saves damage.
At one point, I think I saw you poking with c.lp > c.lp, hitting, and going for the party starter, just after that you hit again with c.lp > c.lp, yet you do something else (I think c.mp) and end with a duck. Why? You already hit-confirmed the combo, why then give up the damage?
I’m not a good player, I might be missing some mindgames or tricks here, but the matches were often close, and it seems like they might have been in your favor if you made some different choices (and I’m talking about choices that were entirely in your hands, not guessing wrong or anything like that).
I think you’re blaming the character for holes in your gameplay. No offense.
Its possible to hit confirm with only one jab but I think you’re missing the purpose of a hit confirm. The idea is to give your brain enough time to realize whats going on before you fallow through with a potentially unsafe attack. One jab extra jab gives you what can feel like eternity to think about your move, so the price of the damage scaling is small in comparison to the advantage it gives.
HK has a really short range so off of a random poke most times you would whiff the HK and get whipped. The MP Duck string is a great tool to get close, you can throw or start a new combo that can bring much larger damage. An additional fact is the less predictable you are in a match the more damage you can get in, so going for the ‘same’ or ‘same-ish’ strings can get you popped.
Your points are good, you aren’t wrong. Theres just more to it than, “this works on ryu -> so do it.” Tournament pressure can play a factor, also a simple unconscious fear of a random wake up SRK FADC U1 at the loading screen can lose you a match before it even starts.
Also always remember, its easy to see mistakes when watching a video. You don’t realize its a mistake until AFTER you’ve already done it when you’re playing!
I think his break from Dudley is based more off his own frustration, not the character. Of course I’m just assuming the same as you so we could both be wrong, maybe hes racist! >=( (lol?)
I can’t give props to a Chelsea fan. lol
Yeh, watching your video against Chris Hu, do you know how badly you would fuck everyone up with that execution you have if you were fishing for Counter Hits? It makes me shudder.
With your execution skills I have NO doubt that you can land easy hit confirms like Overhead into st.HK xx LP Jet Upper with no jabs. I’m certain you can land Counter Hit f+HP into st.HK xx EX MGB. And I am more than certain that if you train yourself to look for it you can start landing CH st.HK or cr.MP xx Empty LK Duck into st.HK xx Death.
Who are you considering switching over to?
