It touched him inappropriately.
Alright pre reg me for TVC CVS2 3s and STHD. Also STHD should be on ps3 so people can use their joysticks, since adapters for x360 are rare and the ones that are around cost $80 and dont work. If you decide to go this route i will bring my ps3 and converters so we can play this game like its meant to be played. Otherwise never mind my prereg for sthd.
I’d rather it be on 360, since I don’t have a PS3 stick, nor a PS2 stick that works with a converter. Whereas I DO have a 360 stick.
Spent a lot of time with the game recently and I really don’t like the game. The cast is boring, the system isn’t all that ground breaking, the game it’s self feels too slow, and from my perspective it seems to favor the defense too much. Granted that’s all just my opinion, in a nutshell.
Anyways, I’m with Ubersaurus when it comes to HDR, I modded my stick specifically to play on the 360.
Grego - Right now it seems that most people want to play on 360, which is easier for me as well since I don’t own a PS3. If people say different we can switch for Ops Monthly #2, but by then the new SF4 stick will be out for 360, so you could use one of those instead of the EX2.
Anyways, I added you to the prereg list.
Hooligan - Fair enough >.<
The tournament is less than a week away! Keep spreading the word, I think this will be a great event.
Not a fan of Dog Dude, Ninja, Big Al, Baseball Dude, Red Guy, and Kazuya?
Honestly if you want to see how fast the game can be, run up against a good Karas. The guy is pure rushdown, and turtling against him barely works.
Just let Grego run it on Playstation 3 – almost everyone has PSX sticks, and if they somehow don’t it’s not like they could borrow one, because PSX sticks will be FAR more abundant at any tournament than 360 sticks. Playstation 3 is the tournament version because of converters. If people like Japanese or American sticks, chances are someone will have one they can use.
edit: also because some people play PSX pad, but for pretty obvious reasons nobody could uses a 360 one. Hell, all I play with is a Saturn pad modded with PSX guts.
I’d prefer to play HDR on the 360 as well. I have two Hori EX2s that I’ve been playing 360 games on. I would even bring my own 360 setup w/ HDR and two EX2s, but my XBox srsly bricked two days ago. I owned that son of a bitch for two weeks.
I can prolly operate a PS3 controller almost as well if it comes to that, however.
Also, I am willing to let anyone borrow my other EX2 for so long as either I or a friend am watching. (No offense to any of you, but sticks are known to get lost at these events if you don’t watch your shit.) Both sticks are still in good condition, even tho they are cheaper Hori sticks.
Too bad the best PS3 converters are out of production or a bitch to get from overseas. And that the PS3 version of HD remix seems even glitchier than the 360 one.
PS3 is the tournament choice because people already have PS3s from running Tekken. At this point the only real issue is what system the person running the thing has on hand, and in this case, it’s 360s. It’s not that big a deal, if you’re already modding the hell out of your stick, to dual PCB mod the thing so you can run it on a 360. So what’s the issue?
Too bad you can get converters the same as Pelicans for like $20-25 still … ? (I just got another Pelican on amazon for $15 in October). So tourney organizers should not have a problem getting TWO at event this size, more at bigger events. And complaining about converters while touting dual-modding for the 360, which isn’t used in anything but DoA tournies? This has nothing to do with Tekken at all. If the Sony version was worse and the 360 had converters, MS’s version would be used because people want the best version that gives them the most options (controller-wise).
Playstation 3 is tourney standard for any game that is multiplatform. PSX sticks are cheap(er) to make, plus all the reasons I just mentioned. Anyone planning on participating in tournaments outside of their zip code needs one. lol I have a custom Sanwa and Seimetsu I’d gladly bring and I don’t even play on either anymore.
I’m pretty sure I can make this as long as I can leave by 5:30, which seems like a good possibility. I can bring setups – I’ll PM you, tourney guy
Ah, but the 360 is used in HD Remix tourneys too. Dunno if you noticed, but they DID use it in Chicago last weekend. No one is giving the equipment to an organizer, dude. They work with what they have. If all they have is 360s, then they’ll run a tourney on 360s. Shit, if I ran one that’s how it’d be just because I only know a couple people with PS3s, but a ton with 360s.
Face it, if you want to be set for any circumstances, you need to be set up to play on both consoles. That’s the way it is.
lol OK, not getting through. Only small events are going to use a 360 for HD or IV so enjoy not going to a big tournament ever. And most events could get away with using 1 setup for HD unless the game gets bigger or its a moderate/big event.
I’d agree with you about necessity if this thread didn’t have two people donating Playstation 3’s for HD alone. Running a tournament on different consoles will never happen.
I have a modded EX 2 with Seimitsu buttons if someone wants to borrow it for HD Remix. Even though some people are saying Ps3 is what they want, at least an equal number want 360 at the moment so we’ll stick with that for now.
We can talk about it at the tourney and maybe make the switch to Ps3 for number 2.
If I’m not mistaken Arkayne is bringing his PS3 for Tekken, but that’s not scheduled to start until later in the day so if everyone wants PS3 we could just hook up HD Remix on that.
5 days…
Ummm uber i cannot help but say you are a fucking moron and everyone that has any sense of tournament organization agrees. There is no benefit or reason to run on 360 when multiple people have already offered to bring ps3’s and not everyone plays on jap parts or cares to. Everyone that plays fighting games has a playstation compatible stick and if they dont they are trash, like i said before if this is on 360 I will not be playing, and neither will chad or probably quite a few others. If you want to run the game as it was intended to be played aaron do it on ps3. Finally there are NO GLITCHES on the ps3 when running it offline. I HAVE A PS3 AND CONVERTERS THAT IM WILLING TO BRING TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN.
I like how you keep saying that the game is meant to be played on PS3 for whatever dumbshit reason.
I know you’re a total PS3 fanboy, but honestly? You’re getting pissy over the stupidest shit here.
Well lets see… ps3 is the tourney standard cause everyone is happy using their own stick, I know your a x360 fanboy, but honestly? Your a retard.
No way I’m getting in sthd if it’s on 360. You’ll be down 2 people in a tournament that is more than likely going to be small in the first place.
It’s not being a fanboy so much as it is you being whinier than a smash bros player. Honestly if I had a stick I could use on ps3 I’d be alright with it - still not really thrilled, but whatever - but I’m not particularly excited about using someone else’s random stick I’m not used to, and won’t have the chance to get used to.
Why not use both consoles? For the finals/semifinals, have someone borrow a stick if it need be.
Edit: as for which console it was “meant to be played on,” does that really fucking matter? Most of the games we play are “meant to be played” on arcade cabinents, but that sure as hell doesn’t fucking stop anyone for using less-than-perfect console ports. And if it’s any indication what console HDRemix is “meant to be played on,” the game’s designer David Sirlin plays on XBox Live and not PSN.
@uber: Your saying YOU will have to BORROW a STICK and that would SUCK. Guess what? If we play on 360 everyone else will be borrowing sticks and it will suck for them… so lets see one person is inconvenienced or everyone is? Hmmmmm… whos a whiny bitch now.
@personman: You can ask sirlin himself and hell tell you that PS3 is the tourney standard. Oh yeah, your a scrub.
