PS2 characters look larger then Dreamcasts too. The GC and XBox games of CVS2 in P-Groove have the ability to Super Cancel like in the SF3 series.
While the xbox does output the game in Dolby, it is 2 ch stereo. It is not a surround sound game, unless you use Dolby Pro Logic II, which you can also do with the more accurate DC version. The only difference, and it isn’t a big one, is that the sound is digital until it hits the receiver, where it isn’t coming out of the DC.
Extra note: While the Xbox does for all games Dolby Digital, not all games are Dolby Digital Surround. Just like DVDs; all DVDs have Dolby Digital, not all DVDs have Dolby Digital 5.1.
Hell, Halo 2 is Dolby 5.0!! Bungie did not include an LFE track because they had complaints that there was too much bass from Halo 1! Bullshit I say! Bring back the .1 for Halo 2.5!!!
I own the DC version and its nice and sharp when playing in RGB
actually TBH i think when displayed in RGB this game looks awesome
Damn that, i love it when my sub kicks out some serious bass unlike my neighbors
Fssss…dont make any difference about xbox version not having RC…over 95% of live scurbs cant RC anyway
Xbox version is faster than dreamcast and arcade.
Xbox version also has P groove super cancel aka the gayest shit ever…more like “free super”
there is something called BBA(broadband adapter) for dreamcast, you dont need to use 56k… but its not like the servers are up for dc fighting games anymore so its pretty pointless
^Cool I didn’t know this. I take it that it never really caught on though.
It depends what lead you use though. I use an rgb scart lead with my dreamcast and it looks clear as hell. Are you using s-video/rf? Might be the reasion some of you are experiencing bluriness.
I think the reasion ps2 and xbox 3s looks nicer is because they actualy revamped it, instead of recycling it, like capcom are so famous for.
Alright, I think I need to clear up some stuff.
DC = PS2 = Arcade. They play the same.
Xbox = GC. IT’S THE EXACT SAME GAME, you can’t go and think that the GC or the Xbox version is superior since it’s the exact same game. The only difference would be that the Xbox can output the game in 480p, but it makes the sprites insanely ugly.
The EO version(Xbox or GC) has a few differences, mainly in balance. They took out RCs, since it’s a BUG. I understand the reason why ppl like RCs, but it’s a freaking bug. They tweaked the damage for some characters, and added super cancels in P groove to help it a bit since nobody played it(and from what I remember P groove was supposed to have super cancels anyway, but a bug in the original version prevented it from working).
No actually there are differences in DC/PS2 and arcade version. Arcade’s speed and damages are slightly different(maybe damages is coming out of nowhere, but def speed). The xbox version has online play where the GC didnt, thats enough for the Xbox version to be better. Plus the GC controller is ass for Fighting games.
ive always wondered why it wasnt in the DC version (arcade)because i presume this is ment to be the SF3 groove with the parrying and such , also the picture for the groove is 3RD strike chun li (well it looks like that anyway)
and of corse you can super combo cancel in SF3
The DC is the closest to the arcade (afterall, the Arcade runs on DC-based hardware).
The next closest is the PS2 version, but the sprites look slightly more jaggy, and there are slight speed differences which can mess timing a little bit.
The Gamecube and XBox are the EO version which has some damage differences (Sagat, Blanka, Yun, Maki, Kyosuke, etc), no RC, P-Groove super cancel.
I remember playing the GC version about a year ago with Ricky and I remember we couldnt do K-Sagat (only) low fierce xx tiger shot super. could anyone bother to confirm this?
I have a copy for each system and can say (at least IMO) that the DC’s version is the best. Especially when using a VGA adapter to a pc monitor, it looks gorgeous.
