Did Someone Say Chimichanga? - Deadpool Thread Reloaded!

We just had our UK Birmingham MvC3 fight club and I played near 10 hours of Deadpool/Ryu/Ironman.

My thoughts on Deadpool:

I was using Deadpool as a battery, as he’s a great zoner with a good assist, air guns and pineapples plus the assist can really frustrate people especially as he has a teleport too.

The teleport is great for mixups, using an assist to cover you whilst you go for teleport shenanigans or even teleporting under them after you kill a character and a new one drops in.

The trigger Happy gun extends, you can only do these moves BEFORE the bullets come out, you cannont cancel at any point

Air shurikens are only good for certain situations, as it hits directly below him as pineapples and Bola/bolo (whatever) do not. They have shit range but they hit an area where your opponent is trying to get to, underneath you.

Bola/bolo needs some testing, it’s got a bit of start up and falls in a 45 degree angle but until we find ways into it it’s not really worth using in comparison to pineapples.

Pineapples are great. Pineapples hits on touch and bounces along the ground about 75% of the screen away. Really useful with air guns and an assist to zone well.

As far as his assists go, trigger happy has some start up but covers the whole screen, as I used deadpool as a battery and had better assists from other characters (ryu’s shoryuken/ironmans repulsor or unibeam) i didnt use trigger happy too much. HOWEVER, i heard at the end of the day that his quick slash assist MIGHT hit low??? if so that will be useful for unblockables.

6B overhead has pretty slow start up and 2 hits, didnt get enough practice with this as people were blocking or hitting me out of it, i had to use assists to keep them in block stun whilst i went for it. Still, better to have than not to have.

The slash super QCB+2attacks does not have too much projectile invincibility but it does have some.

Counter lvl3 super is great against obvious physical attacks (Hulks jumping in normals for eg) or supers that are physical hits. Especially when people are contempt with doing the same strings or set ups.

Dash and Wavedash with deadpool is actually too amazing, he is so low to the ground during the dash that he’s literally like a Mishima. And yeah, he can dash under a standing Magneto or Storm for some ridiculous mixups with assists and without.

BnB’s:

2A, 5B(2 hits), 2C, 5E, jump, j.ABCE, land, DP+C,C, wallbounce, dash, 5E, neutral jump, j.E, WAIT A BIT, air gun super OTG’s

As the OTG leaves them grounded for ages after the second j.E, deadpool falls back a bit if you wait and then can shoot them on the ground with air super.

After the wall bounce in the BnB deadpool can ground gun super into whatever, X-factor into another, DHC etc etc.

Some people wont like him as he is mainly a zoner, runaway but I still felt he was very fun.

When I played at the Sheffield fight club me and my friend immediately went for a Deadpool vs Magneto team to hear the Yipes line. We also discovered that Deadpool’s intro line against Magneto was this.

Conveniently I have no footage but feel free to try it out.

On a side note I think trigger happy could be one of the lowest priority projectiles in the game to compensate for its speed.

What’s his best assist (the one you used)?

Quick Work is his low hitting assist, Katanarama is an OTG. Personally from what I’ve seen his quickwork assist is going to be money in aiding a point character who is pressure/rushdown in play style. Comes out quick, covers space, hits low so you can combo on ground and from there the possibilities are a plethora. As long as the character has a super/normal that can cover deadpool when needed upon block.

Some more stuff I found out with Deadpool:

Yeah, his Quick Work assist is low and launches on hit. This means that Deadpool as an assist can perform unblockables. As it launches though you have to do a jump in or overhead whilst D.Pool hits low and then immeadiately do a combo that works on an airborne opponent.

**Teleport **is amazing (besides the fact that it breaks every 3rd time), as you can see in those vids, combine it with a good assist (I was using Ironmans fullscreen Unibeam) to create crossup shenanigans into free combos. The teleport when it breaks actually has a hit box and does damage to close by opponents too.

The momentum on forward super-jumping **Guns **is totally shit, if it wiffs or is blocked you can’t do shit on the way down and you end up landing right near them. Neutral jumping guns both A and B versions plus Pineapples are definitely his best zoning moves.

Unblockable @ 2:07? Couldn’t really tell from the shaky camera what happened fully.

Nope, Thors attack is not a low and was done to early anyway even if it was. Deadpool just landed an overhead that’s all.

has his counter super been detailed more anywhere? Do we lose control of him? How long does it last? Only way to trigger is if he’s hit?

I really don’t like how his lvl 3 is a counter =/

Gash, Deadpool has the same amount of health as Dante. Lower than average :frowning:

Yet rapid characters like Wesker get higher than average health…

You lose control, Deadpool walks forward. Lasts about 3 seconds and if any physical attack (even supers but not projectiles) touches any part of him it goes into the animation.

One thing I used it for a lot (and got a big reaction every time) was to block a multiple hitting physical move (like Weskers MaximumWesker super) and X-factor out of block stun straight into the counter lvl3. It worked every time :smiley:

I figure the trade-off is that Pool has stronger zoning options.

That was the first thing I thought about doing once I heard you could KFC out of blockstun. :lol:
