I just want to clear of what i’m going to do for the mayflash arcade stick PCB, I should get clear flux wires to add solder, and try solder underneath on the last part to make conduct for the buttons, should i use rosin solder flux first before i do this
also i forgot to mention i accident melt some wire wraps when soldering first time, the wires is good but exposed, should use a little foil and electrical tape to fix it
um ok… the communication just doesn’t seem to be working both ways here…
That should be your ground… so some good news…You could try the through-hole and solder to the reverse side.
-there are holes on each contact area… flip the board over, add small amount of solder to the contact and
-tin your wire.
-Heat the solder on the pad and then thread the wire through the hole while heating. Remove heat and hold wire there
Even if that doesn’t work (it should) you have many other alternate spots for ground on that PCB.
okay what type of wires should i solder with, clear flux wire from radioshack… … and what should i get for cleaning my solder iron, it’s dirty, also when soldering should use the 22 guages wires to connect with the pcb board??
Yes, it will work with your sanwa buttons. It comes with all the wires and quick disconnects you need. You just plug the wires in according to their diagram and it works. You may have to swap directional wires around, but no soldering is needed for that either.
Your mayflash pcb sounds like it’s still fine, this is just another option since you seem to be having lots of problems here.
just use normal rosin core solder (wire). Done a bunch of mayflash and never had to use straight flux as there are good size pads to work on. Flux will ease in wetting the contacts if your solder doesnt seem to be sticking.
to clean your soldering iron use tip cleaner.
If its so bad that tip cleaner doesnt work, 800 grit sandpaper works as long as you tin it IMMEDIATELY afterwards
one more thing is there a size of rosin solder wire that will work or just any… yea my iron is that bad and haven’t used for a year, new solder recommended???
