There’s no real reason to believe that’s Q… it’s just a random guy in a trenchcoat and hat.
From what I’ve read, some of Capcom’s official books list -evry- appearance a character has made in any game, even background cameos, and Q’s only listed appearance is in 3rd Strike.
He wouldnt be listed if he wasn’t a character at that point, maybe. If they created him off that stage, then he wouldnt have been a character at that point, or I suppose you could just say that since the entire concept of Q is a shrouded backstory, they didnt want to explain anything. Also its more than just the trenchcoat, doesnt he have his mask too? I certainly dont remember a face.
And yes, this has been pointed out around 400,000 times.
I think it has been proven by multiple official sources that Q is not the guy in the background.
He was created, just like that, with no story or whatever to drive the fans insane trying to figure it out.
