Dictator Combo Thread: He rules with an Iron Fist...of Energy!

cl.HP > s.LK > s.MP xx HK scissors (284)

This combo succeeds the old cl.HP > s.LK > s.HK combo. Due to the new s.MP extension, this new combo requires no precharging. However, it’s still an impractical combo because s.LK cannot be plinked, but fun to know.

Coincidentally, it’s also bison’s most damaging meterless combo

You can plink with select

I hate that combos are character specific, idk what to practice at times

Guys I’m having a problem every time I want to do

c.lp s.lk s.mp I end up walking backwards when I do it in training it barely happens in an actual match I get DP’d is there away to stop that

all you can do is practise or Use cr.mk instead of st.mp

S.mp is better for frame traps and certain combos, and for poking. Other than that, it’s worthless. c.mk is a better option.

I agree with this 100%. The button is very useful in neutral, but I don’t agree with trying to squeeze this button into combos to the point where I have to start worrying about it being character specific just to potentially squeeze out a bit more damage. I know the struggle for damage with Bison is real and all, but for me personally, I don’t want to potentially fuck up and eat a huge punish when I could sacrifice some damage to land a combo that I hit 100% of the time offline and 90% online. I do enjoy watching other Bisons do the sexy s.mp shit, though.

@Grimm_Demize exactly. There is honestly no reason to use the s.mp in combos except again, for those MU’s where the c.mk might not connect, like Guile for instance. Seriously, they need to make that easier to link. I even saw Combofiend dropping that CONSTANTLY when the game was in beta. You all remember the video.

In general it’s just not worth getting blown up for. Stick to the reliable damage.

I’m having trouble with basic chains, like cr.lk cr.lk link cr.lk xxx lkscisssors.
I can’t get the first two to link consistent I train for hours and I just can’t get the timing right, when I do it its by luck, and I’m having trouble cancelling specials out of normals in general.
Any tips/help would be helpfull.

Unfortunately there’s nothing more to it that finding that “sweet spot” when it comes to the rhythm of the combo. Best way I can explain it is a bit of a stutter, like tap – tap – tap – tap. If you’re new to the game and combos, you might try to hit it rapid fire and you can’t do it like that.

Also, as far as the special cancel at the end, remember to start charging the exact moment you land the first c.lk. By the time you get to the third c.lk in the sequence, you’ll have had more than enough time to gain a charge for the cancel.

Y’all are right it’s pretty much useless I can hit it here and there but its not worth it at all c.mk feels better naturally since I’m used to practicing it

Have you guys seen the Mono compilation he was playing PR_Balrog he interrupted dash punch with s.hk into s.mp it was so sick but idk how practical that is

Imo they should keep the st.mp link as it is, but give it like 80 or 75 damage, 70 is too less at the moment.

Bison is still lacking in damage, I’m sorry. Seriously the s.mp buff is really not all that in terms of a damage extender. It helps in some situations where the c.mk wouldn’t connect due to certain character hurt boxes, but the counter hit setups aren’t that versatile. In the end, if you want to play safe with Bison, your stuck with shit damage, like before.

As for the c.lk setup, I actually find those easier to link than the s.mp.

Sry OT but, for me it’s seems like light normal psycho crusher got nerfed on block? I can’t get it safe even when spaced right like in AE. Hard PC can’t cross up anymore as easy as it was? but on the other hand it wins now more for example, sweep bison in the mirror match, do psycho crusher to cross him up, in AE if the Bison wakes up with ex-psycho you will get beat, but now in Ultra you win!

My Bison USF4 BnB’s. I tested these on the Steam version so there might be discrepancies between the different versions as far as who it doesn’t work on, so I’m sorry.

Hit confirm combos

cr.LP cl.LP st.LK st.MP XX
HK Scissors for wall push (217 dmg)
LP Crusher for up close pressure (205 dmg)
Doesn’t work on crouching Blanka, Cammy, Chun, Honda, Elena

cr.LP cl.LP st.LK cr.MK XX
HK Scissors for wall push (214 dmg)
LP Crusher for up close pressure (202 dmg)
Doesn’t work on standing Adon, Balrog, Sim, Elena, Guile, Guy, Rolento, Seth,

The 3 damage increase lol. So far Elena’s the only character where you have to confirm whether she’s standing or crouching and go for st.MP or cr.MK respectively. I personally go for st.MP combos more often because they drop on less characters. Let me know if I’m wrong in any way as far as the list of characters the combos don’t work on.

Can replace the cr.LP cl.LP with cr.LK cr.LK for combo off of attempted crouch techs, but then you’ve got a 2 frame link and two 1 frame links so use at your own confidence level. I personally am learning the cr.LK cr.LK st.LK st.MP combo because it’s a 70-ish damage increase from his other cr.LK combo cr.LK cr.LK cr.LK XX LK Scissors. Also cr.MK combos tend to whiff if you did the pokes further away while st.MP combos tend to be more reliable.

I can put these combos and other USF4 combo stuff mentioned in this thread into a new thread if it’s cool with everyone.

I’d appreciate that very much dude. I’m trying to learn some bison right now =D.

I’ve been maining Guile and I can land most of his bnb combos, but with Bison I’m still having trouble. Is st lk into st.mp a 2frame or 1frame link? I can’t land it.

One frame link bud. Plink it.

Thanks, landing it pretty consistent now

I always see people saying on dictator forums that cr.lk x3 xx SK and cr.lp cr.lp st.lk st.mpxxSK are the most important combos, however, cr.mp cr.mkxx H SK does about 300+ damage, why isn’t this combo better then the other ones?
