Diagnose my dragon punch with my input

hello,

just bought a stick, starting with ST, and here is what my (failed) dragon punch currently looks like:

It seems as though my punch comes in a motion too late. It’s not registering at the same time as my downforward - is this just a timing issue or am I doing something else wrong?

I got it. my input reads f, d, df + p but i’m STILL doing a crouching punch. what am I doing wrong here?

No, your inputs are way off, just look at it. You have:

d, df, d
f, df, d
f, df

None of those are even close. Make you shift the stick left then bring it back and then down. DO NOT SLIDE the stick to down or you’ll get extra motions. Bring it back to neutral and then in one motion go down, to df. Once you have that motion ingrained in you then you can try speeding it up.

you’re reading them backwards… it scrolls from bottom up

in either case i’ve got the motion down now but i’ms till not getting it. it’s literally registering “f, d, df + p” and i’m still getting crouching punch. strangely, i’m having no trouble getting the same motion to execute wolverine’s shoryuken in children of atom….

in st the window is tighter for specials literally everygame after has had leniency or shortcuts of some type from the initial forward its something like 5 frames I wanna say to do the whole input and it has to be 1 for 1 accurate also unsure about the allowable gap between each input for it to still register as a special (someone help?)

long story short ST is the execution bar

ahhh…. so that’s why i keep getting the crouching punch, i presume. just gotta pick up the speed i guess

The input window is also random in ST (8-15 frames), so even if you get it once you might still need to go faster in order to execute it consistently.
