I think they’re just gonna charge for the upgraded battle.net 2.0 and only for the extended features and such. I doubt they will charge a monthly for an action RPG.
My wizard guide is coming along: http://www.theamazonbasin.com/d2/forums/index.php?showtopic=80035
It’s probably the best one out there with pictures and I’m going to finish synergies and descriptions later.
Not sure if I should create a blizzcon 09 thread, but i guess i’ll just simply bump this up since my question is… Anyone know how many tickets went on sale that day? Did you get yours?
May 30th is the second batch. I got fucked over by my slow ass internet. -.-;
Most likely we’re going to see a major update on D3 this upcoming blizzcon. Possibly the last 2 classes will be introduced.
I heard the tickets sold out in not minutes but seconds. The second batch will go as fast for sure. For those who couldn’t get a ticket. They probly will make another ppv event. No doubt that there will be a massive update for d3( hoping all classes will be annouced). As well for the rest of their ip’s. Also I hope to hear a little more about their new ip mmo.
Yeah it was that fast… I was depressed because my ass was up all day waiting for that shit to start up :bluu: .
Well yeah reason why I want to attend blizzcon because I haven’t been to one yet. Starcraft and WOW already got there special treatment the last couple of blizzcons and being a Diablo fan, I’m getting the feeling Diablo 3 will be the next major spotlight.
So anyway, if I don’t land a ticket on the second batch or even a third then I’m still willing to pay for a blizzcon ticket $30 more from someone here via Trading Outlet. Yeah $30… It sucks to be a college student with a minimum wage job. But then again, I’m working full-time all summer baby!
Can’t be as bad as Blizzcon 08…It was first come first served. Not some randomized oh the site is up for 3 seconds crap.
Hopefully I will get my May 30th tickets.
By the way, last year, D3 was loads of fun. Seemed a tad too easy but meh, it is very early in the build.
How much are tickets? and how do you get them?
BlizzCon 2009 will take place August 21 and 22 at the Anaheim Convention Center, and tickets cost $125 each. For further information about the convention, check out the official BlizzCon site, and keep an eye on the ticket sales page tomorrow for the chance to get yours.

If D3 is gonna have a monthly fee, then I’m not buying it:tdown:. I’m sure lots of oldschool D2 players like me (aahh high school memories) feel the same way.
naw i dont feel that way, id pay a monthly fee…are you kidding me i probably put like 200-300 hours of gameplay in a month into D2…you let me know where you can get 200-300 hours of entertainment for 15$ in a month…
im outi

Wouldn’t surprise me. The moneygrubbing whores at Blizzard are willing to do anything. That’s why SC2 is one game for the price of three, as though the company’s in danger of going broke with all those WoW addicts selling their organs to keep playing.
I doubt Blizzard is going to charge anything besides the price of the game for Diablo III. Starcraft II is basically three games (each race with thirty some odd missions, completely different ways of interacting, Terrans get a point a click adventure game thingy, the Zerg more of an RPG, for instance) for the price of three, slightly less depending on how they value the last two, but I am not running through that idiocy again. Where they may charge you is Battle.net 2 and even then they only hinted at certain features being monetized, I would bet that online play will be free with some extra perks to people who shell out a few bucks.
On a different subject I can’t wait to see the Barbarian’s Fury system in action; using mana always seemed a bit silly for that character.
this
and im curious to see how the rune system plays out. custom tailoring your own spells… yea this game is going to turn me into a diablo zombie again.
Fury seemed like a warrior’s rage from WoW.
Chances are Blizzard won’t charge monthly for D3. It’s on battle.net and none of their games are on subscription base.
That being said, I can’t wait for D3 and SC2!
I’m rather sure they will charge a monthly fee, but I think it would be to their disadvantage. I for one would buy the game, and yes I would subscribe, but after I beat/am bored of the game then <Cancel Subscription> <what’s next?>
A lot of games might try to do the subcription thing, but if a game is not good then people won’t play it… a la Conan/Hell Gate…
:u: I wouldn’t underestimate the replay value, this is Diablo, after all. Difficulty levels, hardcore mode, 5 character classes and tons of fat loot. It’s an addictive formula Blizzard knows all too well. You should know this too, isn’t that FFXI lingo in your post!?
I don’t even think it’s right to put AoC and Hell Gate in the same sentence as D3. Diablo is a worse detriment to one’s social life than your average MMO.
I’ve lost days of my life to Diablo and DII.
If I have to pay money to play D3 on an even better online system all I have to say is:
Bye bye Netflix.
I never loved you, anyways.
blizzard isn’t doing well, profit wise? are you sure?
aren’t 20 billion kids subscribed to this thing?
I hate the fact that blizz’s games are so fucking epic they can harken back to my life 10 years ago. Wtf. I did not envision speaking of a game I played when I was 16 when I am 26. Shit makes life seem too surreal. Its like a bad pusher that got me hooked when I was a kid and never left the neighborhood, except he lives in a $100 mil mansion and I am back asking for more. Fuck you blizzard.
