ahh,but what about when they do a spd after spamming greenhands?
if you cant time the punish after greenhands just jump away.
sorry for not being in here been busy with seth sub forum and tourneys =P
Yo any solid tips against rufus ??? i get raped in the corner / pressure…
Does this mean that they are whiffing the green hands? If I find myself just out of green hand range, I usually do b.HK or b.MK->flame and hit him during his recovery. If you block the green hand, I usually just throw them towards the corner.
my problem with green hands are that they usually green hand to get in close enough then spd.and they spam the green hand once knocked on the ground.
Yoga Tower > Greenhand + SPD, forces gief to hit you high.
thanks,ill try that out.
If he starts to greenhand-lariat, be prepared to cancel the YT into a block or dash/jump away (or use an appropriate low, if applicable).
oh alrite,thanks for the tips
Haven’t posted in a while, hell, haven’t even played in a while! With regards to the Gen matchup, yes, this is one of my toughest. I can say keep him about standing fierce punch distance from you as much as possible and poke with S.MP, S.MK, etc. If he jumps in from this distance B.HK. If he’s a bit closer to you do a slide under his crossover attempt. Just keep poking him, if he gets a knockdown on you, BLOCK the crossover combo/throw attempt. Gen will do most of his damage from this fucking situation, including unloading his super/ultra on you.
Basically, if you’re able to defend against the annoying crossover/low jump in, and control the pace of the match, you should be good.
This is against mid-level Gens, since I’m a mediocre, mid-level Sim :-p
Btw, good to see you Sabin posting here again! You’re definitely one of the best Sims in the US, drop Seth and come home
Gen is cake, I thought? Keep him a jumpin away, and just b.HK the stuffing out of him. He’s going to jump in because his walk in is garbage. Any walljump garbage can be slided and the pencil drop is easy to slide ultra/super/whatever. Use them quick pokes unless he’s well out of range (at the end of your fierce).
One of the best things to do at round start vs. almost every character is not push any buttons. If you’re live mindgame them by pretending to tap out hard punches.
So anyways, I votes the good Sim players get together and have a quick discussion and put up some number on the front page, and then every week we put up a matchup and get comments on it and revise the numbers accordingly. Here’s mine

You can low strong or fierce Rog’s jumpins. It’s not much but it is something. I’ve also gotten some milage out of standing fierce, but that isn’t 100%.
Or Yoga Fire to make him block and push him back out.
b+lk beats almost everything Bison can do after a lk scissor kick. At least trades. You have to watch out for Ex scissors though.

no sir fyi cause of sim, and the way hes played everyone “almost” beats me heh
I don’t usually like to quantify things, because I’d basically have a list of 5-5s almost all over the board. I think 'Sim goes even with most of the cast.
Hard Matches
I think Sim’s weak against Balrog and Gief (you have tools to deal with these matchups, but so do they … and the guesswork is absolutely not in your favour due to extreme damage output). I also find it difficult to break a determined Chun turtle (and am pretty scared of her getting in my face), but I think that might be more me than 'Sim, because I don’t know her very well.
Easy Matches
I think Sim’s strong against Vega. Almost any attempt to go off the wall is pretty much free damage for Dhalsim or free positioning at worst, and he has no good long-range knockdown ability to close space (no psychic jab DP, no EX projectiles, etc). His jump-ins are hard to anti-air, but IATing behind them works fine. It might be that I feel good against Vega because I also play him, though.
Mostly, though, I think 'Sim goes even with pretty much everyone.
@Sabin: so, you say sim has an advantage against gief? interesting, wanna motivate?
@David: Is rufus really that bad? personally I haven’t had much problem with rufuses’ but I haven’t played him much. would be nice with a motivation here too.
rufus is a tough match up for dhalsim which ever way you look at it. Yes about 90 % of rufus’s dont really know how to react to a sim but fighting a good rufus like marn will turn the match around. i would say 6:4 with the advantage to rufus.
just a note ex yoga blast against rufus’s dive kick is great if you dont have the space to bHk for anti air.
regarding Fuerte i would agree with sabin, very tough match up, again its situational if your going up against Oj or Manny.
