What the best motion for ultra?
Seriously i can do ultra with ryu like 99% but with dhalsim sometime he teleport… I know is because of priority command but what is the best motion for 100% ultra not the teleport?

Just practice the quick QCFx2 really quickly in training or something. Practice makes perfect. Im still getting toe teleport too sometimes but just slow down and do it, you should be fine
If you’ve been using the analog stick a lot, make sure you put it to neutral after a combo or teleport unless you’re going to be moving back, which then you still may need to put it to neutral after… FP or something like that. Start off with down and then QCF 2x + PPP.
Having a hard time with some of Dhalsim’s combos.
Can anyone tell me when the exact time to enter the inputs for the yoga inferno right after doing - back MK, Yoga Flame.
I’ve been trying this for about an hour and was only able to pull it off twice.
Does it matter which yoga flame (jab, strong or fierce) is used after “back MK”? Thanks again for your help.
i usually use jab for my yoga flames. i can do it pretty consistently in training but i have a hard time doing it in an actual battle. i usually stick to my db+lk xx super but i do try the b+mk, yoga flame xx super from time to time. i usually do it in one motion without any pauses. the b+mk to yoga flame is pretty hard to do and trying to do the super makes things harder. i practiced doing the yoga flame xx super first to get the feeling for it down. then i added the b+mk. once you do the motion + p for the yoga flame immediately do the super. i know it’s hard but i haven’t found any shortcuts for it.

I saw top Dhalsim players on youtube and it’s really impressive how they are executing that particular combo out of that insta air teleport.
Doing two half circles + punch for the (super) yoga inferno after that yoga flame is extremely difficult for me.
When do you think I should start the motion for the yoga inferno? Is this done as soon as the yoga flame comes out (start, midway or end of it)?

no prob man. we are all learning from this thread. i’m doing my best to help others too. bout the super, i don’t wait for the animation of the yoga flame to come out. once i finish the command of the yoga flame, i automatically do the motion for the super. practice doing db+lk xx super first. that helped me get the motion for canceling the super down. i usually do a faster motion for my supers compared to my ultras. when i perform ultras i do the motion a little slower. i hate it when i try to do my ultra but my sim does the teleport instead.
and another thing about sim’s super, i still can’t do it from the slide. gotta practice that a lil more.
Ya, as soon as you hit lp for the flame you should immediately go into the super motion (it should basically be one fluid motion for the flame and the super). Don’t wait for the flame animation. I use the b.mk to hit confirm since if that lands the whole thing should land.
Try 2, 3, 6, 2, 3+lk, 6+p

IAT behind opponent, extreme meaty air b+fp, ultra, super. Ultra cannot be blocked if extreme meaty b+fp hits.
Slightly easier to do when opponent is crouched.
both air b+fp and air fp link into ultra
but in extreme meaty or low to ground situations like you mentioned
The teleport issue was a nightmare for me as well.
Now i do Ultras using just d, f, d, f, PPP
ola, couple questions -
I can get the mk - lp yoga flame part (4 - 9 - 4) fairly reliably in practice mode, sometimes in games. But I’ve never once got the whole mk - flame - super combo out, even in one hour of practice :tdown:
do u guys use 4 - 9 - 4 - 8 - 6 - 8 - 6
or 4 - 9 - 4 - 8 - 9 - 6 - 8 - 9 - 6 ?
Also, I haven’t really learnt the “correct” IAT technique, i just kind lean the stick up forward and straight away do the motion and it seems to half the time place me just above and behind the opponent… is this the same/timing position as doing the “correct” way, ie- should be able to go into the hp - mk - flame combo? not sure if i’m “arriving” too high
ps - my first post, been reading for a while and playing for couple months…i seem to be the only dhalsim player i’ve ever seen online in my timezone (hong kong)… btw, awesome forum…
494? I think you have the numpad thing upside down. 8 is up, 2 is down, 4 back, 6 forward.
Anyway, I think this motion would work for the b.MK xxFlame xx Super is:

I dont think the full motions are necessary but it’s good to practice them for your execution.
If thats the way you do the IAT and it works for you, stick with it. I do F, QCF, UF but I always press it too early so I have to work on that timing. Ive tried that way but it doesnt work for me, I input too slow and Im too high to do the combo. Check out the IAT FAQ if you have more questions about it.

(You need to be close after Ultra)Ultra, back Mid Punch, Mid Yoga Fire, Super.
Damage: 599
Hits: 12
Edit: Found that this version is easier to hit and does more damage
Change: Light Fire < Mid Fire
ReEdit: Still testing it and it does have different damage rates depending on the timing, max i’ve gotten so far is 606
