I do alright against G1 Zangiefs as Sim ~6/4 in my favor. Just try to space normally while refraining from yoga fire all the time. Mix it up with s.HP to prevent getting ex GH into a corner.
Eleminate j.HP from your game. Do not use it at all. Ever
pretty good tip, but if they have any ex meter and you’re far away and they’re jumping towards you, do not use fierce punch when they’re about to land cause they can take advantage of the invincibility from EX banishing and knock you down while also cause a lot of damage, your punch will just pass through without hitting. If you’re at the correct distance to block the move, you have the advantage and you can throw them into the corner or wherever so that you can control a lot more space and they’ll have to start back from square one in the corner. Though make sure they don’t appear right in front of you after banishing cause they can grab you immediately after as well.
outside of bigbox, im doing pretty good against mid level and upper midlevel players…at a lot of arcades i can streak vs master players (50,000 bp) without much of a problem
but at bigbox, i get fucked up a lot. i usually win maybe 1/2 games out of 6, its really difficult to streak there. plus since that is the top arcade everyone there has a lot of experience fighting iyo so it is definitely tough. im getting better tho! and i will be at trf perhaps this friday so you can see how i do at a streamed tourney vs japanese comp
i’d be more than willing to spare with any sims out there. im trying to boost my gief’s overall perfomance and i haven’t fought many Dhalsim’s. any psn takers?
in what way is that offering help to us sim players by saying “I rape sims that try and zone” so your saying sim shouldnt zone? get in close and wrestle? maybe IAT bnb? man, if you are coming onto the sim forums dont start boasting about how you destroy sims…we dont bloody care and dont want to either! If you have something constructive to say, then by all means- let us know!!!
If you actually took a minute to THINK on the post your trying to bat down. You would realize that he is giving you a little hindsight into his stat. I do notice that geifs make sure that have some EX’s in hand before planning a way way to get close…
For Keldorn87… This is where you have to be careful on when you throw a fire/limb. Hell, also empty jumps to bait anti-airs. Since you get a free throw on blocked greenhands, you got to make sure you keep your mind sharp. And I haven’t even touched the aspects of a gief player with good use of normals and more competant with “Educated risk” fact that favors geif in this matchup.
So by “we” you automaticaly assume that encapsulates all humans that have ever existed? Are you a retard? By “we” I was refering to other sim players on this forum that would not take kindly to “ohh yeh you sims yoga fire spam from 1 side the arena whilst i spam lariat and get ex and pwn ur asses!!!” I did not mean YOU, as you obv are a dickhead. www.dictionary.com and search we, and you will probably find that it is a pronoun and refers to one + an other or possible others. Read over it again and again until you uderstand that okay?
Second of all- its obvious that all gief is doing with lariat spamming is generating EX and its obvious that he wants to green hands ex in- what would have been really helpful from the gief commenting (and this was my point, all be it ratherly bitterely put) is informing us on what HE really dislikes when facing a GOOD sim like “ohhh man i hate it when they mix up limbs” or “its worst for me when a sim uses (x) move/technique”
This matchup is one of my (our) hardest ones, and we really need to grasp how to escape a gief, safely and simply, when he does get a lariat off that flips us, or an ex hands that gets in on our zoning.
If someone could post a video of a perfect example that would be far more constructive than what NDRWPNDY and the gief guy have had to say.
If you take a second to wipe the cum out of your eyes, you’ll notice that a video example of a perfect Gief match was posted very early in this thread.
You talk a big game. In one post you’re lamenting the fact that you cant do ‘s.b+Fwd xx Flame’ like clockwork, and in another post you’re trying to tell people what “a good dhalsim” does and doesn’t do. And in here you’re being presumptuous enough to speak for Sim players as if you’ve been posting within this sub-forum since release, or even since anytime before a week ago.
Try establishing yourself before you posture like you’re leader and defender of Sim players everywhere, real talk.
So because I can’t get a sim bnb down (which I can with pretty much 90-100% consistency now) means I can’t identify what a good sim does in practise?? Your arguement makes no sense and is void…bit like your life?
I have seen the video, its good, but what harm is there in more vids showing a different perspective on facing a gief? Is that wrong to ask for?
Who said I was the leader of Sims? There are a few friends of mine on this forum which main sim/play sim, and would more than willing to agree with this point, as it was discussed before I posted my original post- we would therefore refer to them + myself, still haven’t www.dictionary.com’d the word “we” have you SON?
Anyway, your arguement bores me…probably as it involves yourself…you can write your pedantic response, as im sure you will, but rest assured it will be completely ignored, and the thread will hopefully move on.
I think the Geef post was a good one. Useful as insight into the mind of Geef while he’s looking at us and spinning around and walking back and forth while we try to s t r e t c h all the way over there and hit him.
I don’t see where the definition of ‘we’ comes into the discussion. Kel used the word ‘we’ in a place where the people reading it would feel included. You are the author of your posts. You have to keep in mind that when you write something that is not a reference material, you are making the reader feel as if they are included in your post. Notice how I used his name specifically in the second sentence, but made the remaining portion of the paragraph ambiguous enough that anyone can be included?
God I love this matchup. It’s so simple and frustrating but has given me some of my most memorable matches. At a local tourney I got knocked out at the last possible round after 4 time over’s. Best match yet.
Definitely “chase” down gief at the start if they aren’t aggressive. But chasing him down with sim equate to getting withing distance of st.hp. Once he has EX then you have to really mix up the fires and pokes. One predictable anything gives him jump-in ex green fist for free. Knockdown, death, etc. Just try to bait that hand and block it for a free throw to start the process all over again.
Ugh stop making non-beef. Like seriously? A matchup thread?
My bad, konkrete. I just felt like the Dhalsim forum needed some Marvel-esque hype. Too much Ghandi non-aggression kinda shit going on in here, my opinion.
Yeah, perhaps I was a bit over critical of the guys original post…just had a rage session against a few giefs that pwnd me lol.
My main problem against giefs is overcoming their block string mixups. I can keep a gief at bay nicely, but IF they do trade with me, or get an ex hands off, and I make that tiny mistake, then its crossups, block strings, and many many (or should i say few) piledrivers, which sim doesnt take kindly to!
I think its probably gonna be a case of just experience, and practising against some gief players, in order to get the timing and feel right in the matchup.
We transcend all of this. We must. For our village depends on us and we must be carefull of such wanton anger and aggression. Peace must be our souls and our souls must be stable.
