Dhalsim vs Ryu/Ken

Pretty sure s.RH beats far air tatsus. If they’re going to hit your torso, b+RH or b+Fwd beat it out. If they’re not going to touch you, throw a muhfucka on landing (watch your spacing and dont whiff your throw!)

Also, if you anticipate they are going to air tatsu from half screen away or more to get in (all shotos in Championship Mode seem to be doing that this days), you can use st. Roundhouse before their tatsu starts just as they jump.

You can also use b.strong to hit them from underneath if they are trying to cross you up with the tatsu.

if they do a hk tatsu quite close, they will float away from grabdistance. better to always have a guaranteed punish

u can focus the fireballs and create an ultra early
also u can try jump HP while they are putting out the fire ball
also u can slide under the fireballs
YogaTower is good also
choices are endless for the fireballs
u can also throw EX fireball and Teleport

when they come to you
if jumping u can do b.HK or b.MP
also u can slide and throw

here u have to predict
but most of them just try to throw

I’d not recommend using ex fireballs vs shotos. You will easily win fireball wars with them anyway, so you’re better off saving it for super. Actually, when I play shotos, I try not to use fireballs too much, if you get too predictable with them, at least ryu and ken can tatsu you from about 3/4 of the screen, and closer than that, they can do it on reaction if they’re not completely wasted. It’s a mind game though, you can play around with training your opponent into thinking you’re going to use fire, and after a couple try to bait a tatsu with c.jab or something.

I am having a hateful time vs a friends ryu, he fireballs plenty faster than i can keep up with (of course) and he tatsus on reaction any dumb fireball i throw, which leads to a depressing cycle of knockdown, crossup jumpin, dragon punch, crossup jumpin, throw, crossup jumpin, dp, super :confused:

Mixup your answers to his fireballs. Slide under them, tower them whatever. Try feinting a fireball by doing crouch jabs, and see if he tatsus, which you can punish with db.fierce

here’s what u can do

  1. while they are preparing the hadoken, do an instant air teleport and connect it with the only useful combo of Sim :smiley: ( HP > b.MK > lp.Yoga flame > Super if available )
  2. in mid screen , u can do s.HP
  3. j.HP , i suppose that next time u want to do it they will do a shoryouken, so dont do it, just jump and land , they will do shoryuken to defend, when they miss with the shoryuken u can setup a combo or what ever u like
  4. trade fireballs with them , not bad idea , u wont loose, with some Yoga tower and drills

now when you are cornered,

  1. mk - sm - mk - sk :smiley: until they jump on you , when they jump do small slide , then KKK teleport away,
  2. block, and when they jump do a EX Blast(up flame) or b.mp followed by fireball (becareful of the shoryuken on wake up)
  3. you can try to teleport ( but most likely u will get hit) it doesn’t matter if this gets you out of the corner

I don’t find fireball wars any trouble at all with sim (i suck when they come at me though).

Use hp fireballs, so they meet theirs sooner giving a smaller disadvantage on recovery time if you trade a few in a row. Just don’t spam them out, be ready for a tatsu at any time if you are in range of it.

After I trade a few from a distance, I like to Mk slide under one into hp range. From their you have a few options, like throwing out a hp, doing a fireball while they can’t (their old one will still be on screen), waiting for them to react and countering, getting closer to snipe/ultra mixup.

lol if the ryu knows sims options i try not to fireball as much and then try to avoid thier fireball with a hk drill or slide then either punish\guess accordingly as tim85 said thier old fireball will still be on screen so you mite get a normal from the ryu which will beat certain limbs.

How do you guys AA their jumping rh. I try to use b.rh but I keep trading or get beat put completely.

If they jump from a far, all Dhalsim can touch his his foot, which usually makes you trade.

If its a jump in, I just get beat cleanly with b.rh. But I’m wondering if there is a timing to it.

I’ve tried using j.mp and s.rh, but these have to be done more on a read since you have to hit them as they’re leaving the ground and before they use j.rh. So if you are wrong you open yourself up, especially with j.mp.

This usually happens if you a little late with your b.hk. Also consider EX Yoga Blast, even if it trades it’s a hard knock down and you have some mix-up possibilities after. This happens more online that offline, at least for me.
