It’s Iyo again vs the same guy he beat at the Nationals (Tomono).

or is Iyo immune to getting cornered as well? j/k j/k!
On a sidenote, I feel that someone like Arturo’s Dhalsim would give the same amount of trouble (in a good way) to some of the comp overseas.
Teruchika has such a weird but seemingly effect play style. I don’t remember seeing 1 bnb IAT combo. So aggressive and lots of use of the lk. Makes sense though the recovery on lk is really fast so you can counter a jump in. The lk.Slide xx mp.flame and bd.mp xx super combos are something I’m definitely going to have to incorporate into my game
wow that Dhalsim had impressive footsies. I don’t think he’s better than Iyo, as their styles are pretty different. Seem like this guy used less Yoga tower tricks, and spammed standing lk. Again, this guy doesn’t seem to have Tateyama style ultra setups, and seems to be weak in that department (as Iyo is as well).
I’m starting to believe that IAT is a generally unsafe move, which is why I’m seeing it used less and less in high level play. Iyo has the most complete Dhalsim, but I have yet to see a Dhalsim that does it all well.
Iyo -mind game, Yoga tower trickery.
Teikiyuma - great footsies, hit confirms
Tateyama - IAT, Yoga noogie setups.
I hope my Dhalsim can become effective in all. And that db. MP looks really beefy, and that hit confirm looks vicious. If someone can confirm this 100% of the time Dhalsim can become a problem.
I thought it was db.FP. I normally use that for any hit confirms anyway. I think IAT is unsafe because a lot more people know what happens when the teleport comes so will spam their DP/Invincible move. And because of SFIV changing the inputs for getting crossed up, they will punish you. IAT is probably best used after they fall and dont tech the fall, allowing you to Fire > IAT.
Also, if you IAT backwards while theyre jumping in you sometimes are able to hit them with a FP/MP and then hit them again on the ground. Cool tactic
you really need to throw more fireballs. a lot fo times you were at full screen distance doing nothing. at that range you need not fear the EX punches since you’ll have time to stuff it with limbs. turn punches can be dealt with too.
that balrog is very headbut happy, learn to bait and punish it accordingly. I see you punishig if with b.mk a lot, is it execution that stops you from adding a flame?
try grabbing his overhead dashpunshes if he uses them as close range mixups.
Hi Slick :smokin: I haven’t recorded yet… I just do that cause I can see my error later.
As regards overhead punches, I still eat them because of 3 fact: 1) my inexperience, 2) input lag of my monitor 3) net lag … it’s really difficult to block a close overhead punch if I’m crouching. I do the standing block before he hits me, but with lag I still get hitted.
So when I’m far from rog, I choose to block standing, because there’s only one punch that can hit me (the low one) but it cannot combo to ultra.
You’re right, I fear them and probably my fault is not to use too much back dash that bring me at full screen distance. If I’m far, but not at full screen distance, I’ll be hit if I do a normal yoga fire.
Yeah, I still have some problems because in the training mode I feel that the timing is different.
