Never said you get U1 faster than U2 I said U2 is incredibly hard to use when Gief has you in the corner. Playing Vangief made me realize that its still in gief favors. This guy is just insane how he has the reaction to lariat on a limb. He barely jumped at me too he jumped either full sscreen away or when he was right next to me.
That 9 hit combo at 1:55 is glorious shit, though.
Vangief is amazing, but he has to guess, its not reactions. It’s just worth the guess cause of the potential payoff even if he gets punished over and over.

Sometimes he’s doing lariat at the very last frame before he gets hit. What makes him a good player though is with his very good educated guesses and keeping his cool no matter what happens.
I saw your match vs him at Evo you grabbed him 3 times on your wake up and he didn’t even looked one bit pissed.

I made it intto the top 16 of my country’s national SSFIV tournament only to get knocked out by the 2 players that ended up coming first and second. One is a gief player the other is an Abel.
In the end they both trounced me. In New Zealand our scene is relatively small so there are very few good Abel or Giefs, hence I have very little experience against them. Was hoping some of you pro’s can wacth the videos and give me some tips. The Abel one isn’t up yet so I’ll make another post when it drops.
Against the Gief my problems was keeping him out. I felt like he basically just man handled me into the corner and smashed me. I don’t have much exp against decent giefs, so you can probably tell that I’m learning as I go. Some of the stuff that I have picked up in.
-I should punish his shiff/blocked green hands better
-Maybe a little too predictable with my pokes and eating alot of random lariat
-The first game I am extremely nervous so I think that definitely made an impact for the first couple of rounds

Other than what you picked up on, I would suggest using Ultra 2 against Gief, simply because it stuffs Lariat.

i play sort of a similar dhalsim to lenny and one thing i found it hard to cope wif gief is how to deal wif his cr.lp=>spd. After blocking his lp, what options do i have b4 he does his spd? and its kinda hard to read that spd coming
Good Dhalsim Match up he really knew how to handle her speed but my only comment is that during the second match he tried to get up close in Makoto’s face. My experience with this girl told that’s never where I want to be with Sim IMO

Difficult matchup, Dic U2 is extremely dangerous.
I think Arturo should vary some mixups, especially after a backward grab. Knowing LIAT is necessary.

I think Sabin played very well. Sanford is a smart player, but he threw out several of the U2’s and they panned out. U2 will not be as uch of a threat in AE if they keep the new charge motion change on Dic’s U2.
