lol maybe I’m being a little overzealous… but still. He’s gonna be better than Vanilla, and that’s the bottom line
Ye the jumping back mp is really clutch:P If he used normal jumping mp, I think the 2 more frames of startup would have let Akuma escape!
Also what I will do when it’s official that Dhalsim’s normals and specials have gotten dmg buffs, and the numbers are available, I will grab some Iyo vids like the famous daigo versus Iyo video, Iyo versus Justin Wong etc. and apply the new dmg in the matches… I think this will be an eye opener for a lot of people, because I am almost sure that the results from those matches would be entirely different if Dhalsim had more dmging normals and specials:P
Wow, Iyo.
Just… wow.
Anyone have a video of landing Dhalsim’s unblockable in a match?
Well, these videos are a bit old but despite Iyo be my favorite player also really like the style of this dhalsim … very safe and a good prediction of the game and good reflexes xD : He called Torimeshi …:
I appreciate that this style of game one vs. sagat, second fight of the first video:

Thanks for the translation article! The new drill is what makes me excited, it sounds like it is not damage buff they are referring to. It should be the hitbox / hit stun for K drill / pushing back opponent on block. Although I have no idea how it will be buffed, I am still super excited about it since I am using it just to fake my opponent or getting away from Zangief, but this probably gives me lot more opening when using Sim!
They are saying the throw will be improved. I am not sure if this is grab range that they are talking about? Since there’s no damage buff for sure, and it doesnt sound right if I say the Knock Down time has increased (Now its perfect).
Last one is the EX Yoga fire, which is for sure opens up Sim’s zoning game even more. I can do hell lot of stuff while the fire is travelling and catch them doing hurricanes / jump forward / jump back / tiger knee / …
I don’t think fullscreen EX fire is that great of an improvement. Super is too good and ex fire is best used when getting around a fireball war, which isn’t a problem at full screen. Maybe setting up for a little more damage from IAT shenanigans but it was just one of those common sense things that doesn’t really add much to his game. But time will tell I guess…
Seems like the more I play, the more I suck
Some “casual tournament” at a guy’s house.

double post sorry
more d.mp that move is golden vs rush/ex rush punch (except ex sweep) even if you miss the hitbox is so low he’s gonna whiff. Bait more the bars and make him understand that ex 3/4 screen away is pointless. Use st.fierce only at max range or when your 100% sure its gonna hit him. Mid range use mid moves such as st.mp/mk and st.lk or cr.jab even if it does crap damage. The match-up is really frustrating as balrog is able to jab rush punch and trade or even stuff st.fierce sometimes. Whenever he jumps tripguard him first so he stops using jump roundhouse and then you can use hk afterwards. I find this match up you have to be very patient and wait till he moves first. If he’s turtling yoga fire all day and force him to move.
Balrog is definitely a match that you have to stick your ground in. Every time you jump back it’s free ex rush. Snafoo’s points are good too.
Random teleports got to stop. I know it’s hard to get off the crack that is bnb damage but sim does not have the tools to force opportunities like that. That guess is not in your favor.
You did fine! You threw Rog out of a few of his EX rushes, and your super at 1:53 was gdlk reflex! As konkrete noted above, just mix up more of Sim’s normals from close to mid range. Also, use waaaaaaaaaaaay less IATs. He knocked you out of about 75+% of’em. Only use IATs as an escape route unless you’re fairly certain it’s going to land. Another move that most Sims sleep on to stop an airborne attacking Rog is a well timed fk slide. If timed precisely it will win a good % of the time. From there you can try to bait a wakeup headbutt. Just my $0.02 — but all in all, I think you did well.
so, the vid of me vs Zak from dreamhack finally got uploaded:

note that this match is about 4 months old now. looking back, I do way to many random teleports, and I twice use ultra with me in the corner, which you should never do against rog since he gets a free headbutt from the range I use it. luckily, Zak didn’t seem to know that.
Very nice. That slide xx super against the ex rush was awesome. A couple times you threw a fireball and he neutral jumped, and you tried to get him with st.fierce, I find it easier to try an tag them with st.forward at that range. That’s the only thing I saw. Good shit.
It was a good fight, you have good reflexes, but there are 2 or 3 mistakes that no one can commit against both Rog:
-You do not want to jump far back, because if he has good reflexes tanbem will punish you, try to get used to dash back to you more = much safer and you can also use yoga tower if you see that your opponent makes 90% of the time fierce puntch
-IAT’s not make so many without being hit in confirmed or to gain distance
- N both try to escape, use the long distance pokes dhalsim to keep it away but be careful if your opponent has bars ex, a good option for you maybe you have good reflexes to punish attempts to link low slide + Super
Trying to find more vids of quality US players. Just out of curiosity, who do you guys think are the Top 5 U.S. Sims?
- Arturo Sanchez (obviously the best)
- UTJ (Top 5 for sure IMO)
- Evil Rahsaan (not sure about Top 5, but he’s definitely up there)
- ???
- ???
Just curious to get some opinions. Thanks in advance. =)
Note: There’s a lot of awesome XBL Sims, but I’m not sure how they stack up against IRL tournament competitors, hence why I only added tournament players to this list.
Another note: If this is in another thread, my bad… I’m too lazy/hungover to look.
imo
Filipino Champ = #2
UTJ = #3
Rashaan = 4 or 5
Lucky D! = 4 or 5
haha scamp ty!
thats actually my list too
(maybe me over rashaan soley because he plays 10 other chars)
((and bring it on WC sims LLOL)
Agreed. Rashaan came to one of our majors and beasted our best blanka with sim, so no doubt, he’s good. But your rationale works. D = 4, Rashaan =5
Surprise hookers.
