We live so far apart, our connection is smooth but the timing is a little off… his execution is great but I’m always impressed with how smart a player he is. I’ve never played a Dhalsim so capable of clutching it out and coming back from 5% health on a regular basis. That has a lot to do with me being a shit player, but Pajaro is still a beast :lol:

Also, I’ve been practicing the cb.FP -> cb.FP - > lk slide -> super for a week now… The links are FINE… no problem there…

My problem is the lk slide -> super cancel… I can do the slide super any time no problem… after the 2 crouching fierces the distance is maximum for the short slide. I can NOT short slide into super from max distance. Does anyone have any insight into this?

Looking at the other frames in that section of the vid it’s just doing the buffer for the short slide super which will only make the super come out if the slide connects. If they dash towards it’ll hit, if they dash back it won’t
Honestly I would not worry about that combo at all unless you’re a trials junkie. Sim has so many more reliable punishes for similar damage that don’t involve 2 one frame links. Not worth your time or energy. Besides db.hp, b.mk xx flame xx super is cooler anyhow :confused:

Shawn, most likely they demonstrated this combo on Zangief for a reason. A lot of combos in the game only land on characters with really big sprites. Are you trying this shit specifically against Gief?

Yea, ok… I got it right away against Gief… Too bad there’s no reason to ever use it.

You started off with a s.FP. If he jumped at you he’d have landed a roundhouse, or if he focused he could have released for a crumple.

At 0:18 you slid towards him for some reason? Rushdown Dhalsim?

0:28 you teleported towards him when there wasn’t a trap in place. You teleported between him and the ultra so no chance to push him into it (not that it would have been advisable anyway).

0:45 didn’t go for the BnB?

There’s a lot of back jumping used for escaping that could instead be back dashing.

EX flame at 0:58 is risky when he could do EX SRK.

Why walking forward at 1:05? You’re too close already.

Extremely risky slide at 1:50. Can be punished by anything on block.

Short drill at 2:20 puts you right next to him. Far too close. Short drill is for escape only.

At 3:00 your friend could have woken up, ex SRK, FADC-> Ultra. I’m not even sure it’d need to be EX.

You slide twice to get close to him at 3:08.

At 4:02 your slide landed you too close to him and you got punished for it with ultra.

Combo’d at 4:36 for being too close.

Killed at 4:40 for aggressive jumping.

Teleporting on a prayer at 4:55

Punished for aggressive jumping at 5:01

You seem to be favoring cb.strong instead of b.mk in your BnB combo resulting in them not landing at certain distances, 5:12?

Punished for being too close at 5:18

2/3rds of your “yoga snipers” seem to be botched. perhaps analyze your technique?

Too much jumping at 5:50 results in you not being stable enough to anticipate / properly handle the tatsu.

You’re far far too aggressive. You are taking quite a few risks. You’re not zoning Ryu at all.

Dhalsim has very little stamina so risk taking is in general going to reward your opponent. Getting close is going to reward your opponent.

I tried to point out every situation in which I cringed because you tried to get CLOSER to him. Your optimal distance is 3/4 screen. You go between being right next to him, to being half screen, to being full screen. I rarely saw you standing at maximum standing fierce distance.

If you get tatsu’d after a fireball it’s because your fireball pattern go too predictable. It’s better to not throw fireballs than to be predictable because he can punish with tatsu and that is REALLY bad for you because it moves you towards the corner, you take good damage, you’re knocked down, and he’s right on top of you when you wake up. The ramification of that is to throw fewer fireballs.

Dhalsim is about REACTION, not attack. If he jumps you can anti air him. If he throws a fireball you can match it or slide or punch under it if you’re properly distanced (the ultimate goal in this match).

see the opp action, then simply react with the proper punish, sim keepit up!

a max distance slide into super has to be done by doing the super motion AFTER the slide hits, not buffering before.

IE practice with m.k slide into super, you CANT buffrer that super, its a hit confirmable super thats done in the hit stun.

also if you played 3s, m.k slide max distance into super 6 hit combo in training mode on auto block is a great hit confirm practice

its a cancel late

short slide is 8 frames, hit stun is 13

super is 1+3, so 4

and since short slide must hit in the combo on the 8 frame on the 8th frame it has tobe cancelled on that frame, comes out on the 12 frame of the hit stun

the correction was you do d.lk to slide, holding down, then super motion half way though the slide and finishthe motion with PPP(def reccomnend pianoing it)

yeah i agree with alot of what you wrote i really need to stay in the range of my hp just hitting him, i do go in too much takin risks

ive been trying to use quick air hp recently also, ive been trying it with neautral as befre i used to hold db in the air

from readin your comments i find that i may be sliding too much and i need to backdash more as i know i have problems jumping too much =/

and yes less fireballs from me especially against hurricain kick :x.
