I don’t know if it’s the final version, nobody knows.
I’ve just compared a Lucky D video vs Bison (where the first hit was d.hp) with a video made by myself in training mode (always vs Bison) and the damage is the same.

the opening c. HP vs dudley seems like it does the same damage as it does in sf4. but when you say the BnB does more damage… maybe they raised the dmg of his yoga flame
also interesting to see is his s. mk at 0:20… it appears to have taken more off dudley’s health bar then I am accustomed to seeing… but maybe i’m just imagining things.
You are not, and c.hp should have a little buff:o flames as well
The damage depends on enemy’s stamina. I don’t remember Dudley’s stamina, so I cannot compare with sf4.
No. Look at these images:

Help yourself with M.Bison text.
It will also be very useful against opponents who seem to be able to easily get in to Dhalsim’s uncomfortable space ignoring Sim’s fireballs (Fuerte, Viper, Ibuki, Guy) or to deter rushes.
So HYPED!!!
Thanks for the input SimSim and gore.
i’m changing the name of U2 from yoga shangri la to yoga brain
Pushing it to Page 17 to help you guys out!
Edit: ~no dice.
I believe it was said Dudley has 1050 health but It could be wrong or may have changed, either way its decent.
As per the Super Street Fighter 4 Final Build Notes from Arcadia Gamers Podcast
Sim:
U2 is a grab. Still kind of bad. Didn’t get the changes he needed.
sigh.
Sim looks low tier atm
You guys are underestimating his normal’s and special’s dmg buffs… Those can make a difference:)
More damage and stun on his normals, as well as more damage on his BnB would help Sim stay quasi-competitive. Not enough to bring him into mid-tierdom but at least that would help him a bit.
We don’t know anything about any possible buffs to Yoga Blast, either. The regular version is absolutely useless in Vanilla; possibly the most useless special move in that game (many moves are shitty in vanilla, but some can at least be comboed into for damage / stun, like Chun-Li’s SBK). The EX version is a bit better but it traded literally ALL the time, which is pretty bad for what is supposed to be an anti-air move that has no other use at all (can’t be used in combos other than some weird, worthless FADC juggles). If the EX version has been improved with either a bigger hitbox or more invincibility, that could help Sim’s defense as well.
Unfortunately most of his bad matchups are still gonna be pretty bad in Super. Akuma is basically the same; Viper is a bit better and has an interesting new Ultra, as do Abel and Fuerte; Seth’s new Ultra makes him even more of a threat and Chun looks like a monster that can juggle into Ultra off a hit confirmed jab with only one bar. At least Rufus got nerfed, but he still has all the tools that made him so scary: it just prolongs Sim’s agony.
Is anyone else really scared of Ibuki? She seems to have many of the properties that make Akuma and Viper such nightmare match-ups for Sim.
Well-said, but I am fairly certain that Ibuki is just one of the many new characters that will give Dhalsim a lot of trouble. According to reports, Dudley, Cody, Juri, Guy, etc. all appear to be very good characters. Dhalsim would have to be extremely fortunate if Ibuki were the only character to be added to his list of mismatches.
The character’s problem is that he cannot generate any offense whatsoever. He just cannot lock down opponents. Yoga Drills and Yoga Mummies are virtually worthless in the Street Fighter IV series. Hence, you have certain characters flying around the whole damn screen and there is not much Dhalsim can do about it. Also, all these new anti-fireball ultra combos (e.g., Dictator’s U2, , Blanka’s U2, Claw’s improved U1, etc.) will certainly not help him. Unless he gains some major buffs, he is pretty much screwed in SSFIV in my opinion, so that not even the great ones (i.e., Iyo and Sabin) will be able to muscle their way through the barrage of mismatches.
Ibuki will be another akuma/viper for sim but at least she won’t have the damage potential.
out off all the characters I think we know the least amount about Sim changes, if any exist. Its to soon to comment based on what we’ve seen. But positive general changes for him include, overall nerfs to shoryu’s and removal of trade ultras, making long distance poking game more effective. On the other hand we have faster level two focuses, which would help counter focus his pokes. Though I have a hunch that faster level 2’s might help with Cammy, Rufus dive kick spam, though I’m not sure on that. We don;t know enough on his new ultra, or the rumored damage changes on his old one. The other negative system change was the addition of mostly offensive characters, and the buffing of bad matches like Claw and Elf. Some one needs to ask Seth why he thinks that Sim is top Tier or was in a previous build. Right now I’m fairly skeptical.
Dhalsim is very good. And if you got some increases in basic demage is very good. The doors in terms of playing style that open with the new Ultra (Shangrila) are many, but I’m sure he will continue a character of weight in the game. I always found it very complete and will continue for sure!
I really do not see the worth of not choosing ultra 1. It’s just too good, especially if people can jump out of u2. I can’t really imagine any matchups where u2 will be a better pick. Maybe gief to stop full screen lariats, but by the time you have ultra how much meter will they have to build? Maybe against fireball characters depending on how the grab range works.
But u1 is just such a strong tool for him that giving that up doesn’t seem smart at all to me.
As someone who picked up Viper because of her similarities in execution and mind games to Ibuki (although they don’t play exactly the same either way) I can assure you Ibuki will be fun to fight.
Yeah hopefully Dhalsim’s specials and command dives get some serious buff. Is there even a use for Yoga Flame let alone Yoga Blast?
sim would have to be getting pretty significant buff in order to help him. Even if they didn’t add any new characters to the game he would have still need a fair amount of help.
Now its just ridiculous.
