He said a lot of things we already know but I will translate every thing.
First tweet :
“Ex Fireball is the only one to go straight forward, the others make an arc, but the zoning is definitly here.
His normals are good. Heavy Kick Crush Counter.”
**Second Tweet : **
“His anti air don’t look that good.
Back Strong is cancellable
He has the drill.
Yoga Teleport is the 2 medium buttons (I don’t know why he said that, because we know his V skill isn’t the teleport but the float)
His backdash is really really bad.”
**Third Tweet : **
“I did not manage to link Back LK into Back MK.
His faster button seems to be his crouching LP.”
**Last tweet : **
“His zoning is “broken”.
Arc Fireball and the Yoga are “unbeatable”.
His CA seems “pifable” (hard to explain that neologism. A wake up ultra/dp are “pif” for example)
I manage to hit it after a cr LP by mashing.”
Keep in mind that even if he tends to exagerate (He loves to do that), he knows fighting game.
I’m thinking he meant that in Sim terms, as in s.HP and 4HP being the far and close versions of HP, respectively. We still don’t know if he retains the two versions of most normals, or not, although I’m pretty sure we saw something that really looked like it would be 4HP being used in a combo after teleport, right?
I don’t understand why they insist on showcasing new characters with players that have absolutely no idea what to showcase. It’s mindboggling. I don’t see this done with any other product. You don’t see someone walking up on stage at an Apple hardware reveal and the person is like “Okay how do I turn this on…”
The intention is to show off what you’re selling and they’re doing a crazy terrible job at it.
It seems that Yoga blast can hit grounded opponets like in SFII. The startup is much much faster.
Im really surprised about all non EX versions of Yoga Fire following an arc. Sim will still be fine in fireball wars because of the much greater startup of Yoga Flame, Vskill, and his multiple ways of getting around fireballs.
I wonder if he has any invincibility on Flame or Blast.
I’m willing to bet that Flame and Blast motions have been changed HCB to QCB.
His CA seems to have two parts to it. First, flames come out much like Yoga Inferno and then the fireball comes out. I thinks he’ll be able to combo into his CA, he essentially has two CA’s. This lines up with the above Frenchman stating that his CA is “pif”.
Take a look at the character breakdowns that games like DOTA or LoL do. Not technical at all, but go a decent way to showing what the character is capable of, to show what their flavour is. Watching Dhalsim flail pointlessly and jump around and get bodied by an equally bad player is not going to make anyone think “Oh wow I so want to play this character!”
I seriously can’t believe that one of the characters that I was least hyped for caught my attention more than the other characters like Zangief and Vega… he’s got this MvCish vibe too imo.
V-Trigger seems interesting… it has this thing that doesn’t trigger a hitstun animation… I wonder how that will play out.
