Dhalsim General Thread: The Longer it Gets, the Harder it Hits

Get ready for the incoming nerf boys :frowning:

Our dude finally returns to his glory days since ST…only to be torn down back to square one.

I’m already preparing so I wont cry when it happens. hold me.

Guiles super shortcut also works for the instant teleport. But I find a smooth spd motion works best.

Combofiend said on a press conference last year that they would only buff others not nerf…but they areally bunch of liars so who knows

I think he’s just strong now because people haven’t had the time to figure out the match. But knowing the community, they’ll cry about anything that makes them have to practice. He’ll be bitched about the same way people bitch about blanka.

I think this might be the first time I’ve ever been interested in playing this character. FChamp and Tokido made him look insanely fun.

It’s too soon to say where Sim lies in matchups. Also, good to see you Neoblood. =)

You too man, how are the Netherlands treating you?

He is super fun, I’m really enjoying using him

I don’t know, I still feel like nobody’s really using V reversal smartly enough yet to say sim is op. A lot of characters have pressure and reversal is an easy way to mitigate that

Hes def not op, he has op elements but so do other characters, though hes, helping me out on the bison matchup, I’m not sure if he wins that but it feels easier for me than with other characters

just saw this vid on instant gale https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OuiTBxv0JM&feature=share

Guess I’ll post this here too. You can use j.hk to catch a Bison trying to reversal ex headpress after a knockdown.

I’m still finding my feet with Sim.

It’s sorta odd. I played Henry Cen and had a real close match; I could have won but made a couple of crucial mistakes. He was trying to play street fighter and I tried to play back.

On the other I have a much harder time against people that walk forward and mash. Random 2k Bisons give me a much harder time.

Admittedly, we’re talking isolated games and not long sets, but I definitely still feel wonky playing him.

What do you guys recommend using for meaties?

2Hp has been working pretty well for me, it combos into itself on counter hit, which is nice

Anything a little more ranged?

Usually, I’ll use a lp Yoga Fire for Oki and then throw out a s.MK or s.MP depending on the scenario. Sometimes j.HP after an IAT too.

Sim has alot of the same problems he has in sf4, its just most people dont really know how to play yet.

Soon enough you’ll get knocked down and wonder what happened to your life bar.

Is he better than sf4 sim? Sure, but so is everyone else in this game.

Been playing around with meaty instant air gale, you’re supposed to be plus after a light one too.
Works really well.

What’s the best thing to do after landing a flame after bnb etc? I usually try and do IAT to j.fierce or something to try and catch em blocking the wrong way, but I found the fierce will sometimes lose to cr jabs on wakeup if I mistime it. Any ideas? Is there a specific height I need to do the IAT or should I just try doing it as low as possible?

When is it best to gale out of a tele post landing a flame? I found that IAT after flame to gale will get owned by jabs, I’m guessing this isn’t a good option or time to gale?

You’re doing it too late if they can jab you out. Try to get it as meaty as possible, you got 14 active frames to work with.
IAT gale after a flame knockdown is a great time to gale, but pretty predictable. Either way you have frame advantage if they block it so it’s a good pressure starter.
