Dhalsim General Thread: The Longer it Gets, the Harder it Hits

Haha I think I understood:p I said sweet to early copy, and answered his question that air vskill is faster. It was not clear at all sorry.

Also, day 1 patch is already active, so if he has early copy and he has downloaded the patch, he has the final build… No more patches

No, my reading comprehension is just shit.

I really hope Cap sped up st.hp and st.hk at the very least.

sorry it wasn’t mine, it was a VIP pre-launch party

even so, i assume the day 1 patch isn’t out since well, the game isn’t officially out

Games almost out. I don’t think Sim is as bad as I first thought, although I still do think no horizontal fireball is a fundamental flaw. His buffed teleport and v skill float playstyle looks like it will be enough to cover that weakness though, and there are still zoning based fireball traps and long range normals to frustrate people with in between that. Then theres the Flame carpet stuff which has huge damage/comeback potential. Mk slide into flame carpet is a very good tool for resetting things.

In terms of his matchups I see a few potentially troubling ones. Sim is still a very frail character and will have the problem of getting randomly overwhelmed no matter what the character (V Reversal will help in this regard). Cammy still seems like the same old bs and might be his worst matchup early on. Other than that, Necalli looks pretty scary. I also think Mika could be trouble although I’ve heard different opinions of the matchup from people that have played the betas. Chun might be bad solely because of her back fierce which looks like it has the potential to beat all of sims normals.

Not sure what matchups will solidly be in his favour. Maybe Gief and Birdie? Possibly Ryu?

cr jab doesn’t combo into EX flame anymore. Yoga sunburst (super) is 320. Level 2 is 360 and fully charged is 400 for all 3 ranges. Not sure if cr. Jab is 3f

It looks like the final build is Beta 4 afterall. Did you download a patch bankae? Does anybody know the damage value of Sunburst in beta 3?

Seems super damage has been the same the entire time.

Man, I feel like Claw and Dictator are his hardest match-ups so far.

Cammy is tough, but there’s ranges you can slow it down and establish a pace. Claw/Dictator just feels kind of suffocating.

If Sim does a teleport immediately after landing a V Reversal can he land behind the opponent in enough time to be safe? Could be a good way to escape corner pressure for one V gauge if so.

Off the top of my head I’ll have to say no, Sim will eat a button. That’s another thing to check in the lab when I get the game tomorrow night.

Simsim tries it here at 0:50. Not quite sure if the bison would have had time to punish the teleport with a standing jab but it looks like simsim got a meaty j.hp after the teleport.

SimSim how do I get the Illuminati tech

It looks like that could be jabbed out of. Keep in mind that backrise is 5F slower than quickrise.

My bad, double post.

Yea for sure, it is not a good thing to do, although you do get out of the corner taking some damage.

Better would be to do: st. Mk, mk slide. Meaty and can combo to b. Mk

Yoga Fire seems like a viable anti-air. Am I right?

lp yoga fire is very valuable as a preemptive anti air and as a bait to have them come twords you, just to get mk slid, but against Bison it’s a nop. He will hk slide that on reaction easily.

I don’t think you can do the air flame to air flame combo anymore. And also his long stand Mk doesn’t hit low anymore? Is it a recent change?

Really? I Will test it since it is very spacing dependant, but they might have removed that juggle potential hmm. What do you mesm st. Mk doesn’t hit low? It never did, but it beat gief’s st. Hp, does it not still?

Does anyone have any setup ideas for the critical art? I found it pretty useless outside of a combo extender so far.
