Games almost out. I don’t think Sim is as bad as I first thought, although I still do think no horizontal fireball is a fundamental flaw. His buffed teleport and v skill float playstyle looks like it will be enough to cover that weakness though, and there are still zoning based fireball traps and long range normals to frustrate people with in between that. Then theres the Flame carpet stuff which has huge damage/comeback potential. Mk slide into flame carpet is a very good tool for resetting things.
In terms of his matchups I see a few potentially troubling ones. Sim is still a very frail character and will have the problem of getting randomly overwhelmed no matter what the character (V Reversal will help in this regard). Cammy still seems like the same old bs and might be his worst matchup early on. Other than that, Necalli looks pretty scary. I also think Mika could be trouble although I’ve heard different opinions of the matchup from people that have played the betas. Chun might be bad solely because of her back fierce which looks like it has the potential to beat all of sims normals.
Not sure what matchups will solidly be in his favour. Maybe Gief and Birdie? Possibly Ryu?
cr jab doesn’t combo into EX flame anymore. Yoga sunburst (super) is 320. Level 2 is 360 and fully charged is 400 for all 3 ranges. Not sure if cr. Jab is 3f
If Sim does a teleport immediately after landing a V Reversal can he land behind the opponent in enough time to be safe? Could be a good way to escape corner pressure for one V gauge if so.
Simsim tries it here at 0:50. Not quite sure if the bison would have had time to punish the teleport with a standing jab but it looks like simsim got a meaty j.hp after the teleport.
lp yoga fire is very valuable as a preemptive anti air and as a bait to have them come twords you, just to get mk slid, but against Bison it’s a nop. He will hk slide that on reaction easily.
Really? I Will test it since it is very spacing dependant, but they might have removed that juggle potential hmm. What do you mesm st. Mk doesn’t hit low? It never did, but it beat gief’s st. Hp, does it not still?
