Because I wanna give these Minnesota players everything they want and then some, and in the thread they want it!!! (Minnesota thread) I’ve been told how many people go to these events. Plus in addition to this, I get the opportunity to meet a lot of Hardcore Neo Geo Heads and take an SNK Major to SNK players.
Also the Chicagoland area, talk to digimonemporer, he would best be able to help you there.

Lecter Discussion EDIT: **Ontop of all this- Emil told Lecter he thinks Alexis is a scrub, and Lecter said he may be a scrub, but he’s a scrub that will destroy Emil…he said this TO EMIL SO EMIL KNOWS.
Plus Lecter says Hugo is not retired, Esteban still plays, and Ismael still plays, Alexis has just gotten better. I told this to Khannibal as well. Khannibal said the last time he saw Alexis he was just a regular guy, and Lecter says this is true, but now Alexis is NOT just a regular guy.
So once again someone doesn’t know what they are talking about!!! (Emil, and even Khannibal on his comments about CD. Juarez, but I posted this to Khannibal last night.)
Lesson- Listen to Emil and you come out being very ignorant! Lecter told me he’s friends with Emil but even HE’S GETTING TIRED OF HIS JAPANESE FANBOYISM. So for whatever reason should Hammer not make it we are shooting for other dates, with the intention of ONLY getting the Japanese players that Emil dickrides soooo much…so me and Lecter see EYE TO EYE…LOL.
Um yeah, because not only do they get hit with a lot of tick throws but they also try to jump out of situations where they can get tick thrown, only to get airthrown. If they actually learned alternate guard, they wouldn’t even be jumping in those situations at all. The entire metagame is really different, one of the reasons being alternate guard…but this is a bad reason for a metagame being different - it’s due to lack of information.
Do you know that even as I speak to him after that, he still does not understand alternate guard totally, as in, the situations that it is applicable and situations that it is not.
Also you don’t understand a thing about japanese/asian kof.
I got someone actually working on the Monterrey tournament, and the Tampico tournament will get people from the Veracruz National…you got msn Malfreds?
Here’s a quick video about Raging Storm MidWest etc-
I just was talking to Dune yesterday and plans are in the works for a Raging Storm WORLD Qualifier in Japan. Dune seems like a really cool guy and we are even working on trying to get Japanese players other than Hammer should Hammer not be able to make it. We will know for a certain if Hammer can come to JuareZ WarZone by this weekend. Next weekend I’ll be going to CD. Juarez, Mexico for Super Bowl III, delivering parts for the tournament, and meeting up with Lecter to discuss the tournament.
Is it true you are talking with the Rosario XI crew to make something here in Argentina? I hope it goes well if that’s true. Too bad there’s no chance for Fatal Fury, but I guess not many people would play that, even though there are a few really good players like pablox.
Yes that is true Cronopio I am talking to the Rosario XI crew, as they have told me the best XI players in Argentina are in Rosario. Me, Oski, Deidos are planning the Argentina Cup 2010 in June that will try to unite a lot of South American countries into one big tournament.
TSF- Alternating guard is practically tapping downback the moment your opponent tries to do a command grab. For example vs. Yashiro he tries to command grab you and you do downback the moment he does it and he will whiff it.
Emil’s still clueless…and he will always be clueless. The time is coming boys and girls, for Alexis vs. Esteban to happen, I’ll even have a trophy for the winner of the ALEXIS VS. ESTEBAN FT10 FOR THE DVD…Yes it’s that serious…And also should Hammer not come we are going to try and get Bata to come, that’s who Dune would recommend…Dune even says Hammer isn’t doing too well in Japan in KOF 2002…meaning he’s getting beaten. So irregardless of what Emil says about me not knowing etc etc, it is he yet again who is the one that’s clueless…But what else is new? Instead of swallowing his pride and saying ‘I was wrong’ Emil says “They/Esteban lost because of XYZ”’ That’s what I find so funny…even when he’s wrong he’s making excuses to get around it. Emil what a character!
FYI my forum will be up in about a week, and then this place is probably gonna die in regards to updates…all updates will be redirected to my forum. Emil only if you can be civil will you be allowed, if you act like you do here, first and only warning…you will be gone…
Yo everyone I’ll be meeting with Lecter personally next weekend so if theres anything you want me to ask him post up!!! LOL.
When your character is put into a blocking animation, then while you are in that animation, you can switch from high to low block (or vice-versa) and avoid the throw. The moment your character is in a blocking animation, you can continue to alternate for an indefinite amount of time and the opponent will always whiff their throw, until you stop alternating. The timing for them to whiff the throw is very lenient, you DON’T have to switch blocking heights at the EXACT time that he throws… You also don’t have to alternate with the same speeds…for example, if you are afraid that you will get hit by sweeps a lot while alternating, you can for example, block high for one frame, then alternate to low for 5 frames, and so on…
Also, blocking animation does not mean you have to actually block an attack…if the opponent whiffs a normal even from fullscreen, and you were holding back, you will enter a blocking animation, and you can even start alternating from that point. This is helpful to avoid things such asO Yashiro’s doing whiffing sweeps/stand CDs into qcb+A throw.
Without utilizing this, you will be forced in many guessing situations and will die pretty easy to grapplers. Common setups that alternate guard beats easy are things like:
jump attack -> throw
weak normal(or some other attack with good recovery), throw
gimmicks like 98 takuma doing fireballs, followed by running grabs
This will even let you avoid setups like Daimon jump attack into hcfx2+B(very delayed grab with autoguard).
Once you get down actually avoiding the throws with alternate guard, then you need to learn how to alternate such that it leaves you less open to low attacks…and finally, you need to be able to confirm quickly when the opponent has whiffed a throw so you can punish with the best combos…note that trying to punish Vice after successfully alternating her hcb f+P grab is pretty risky, her recovery on that is much better than other throws in the game.
What am I wrong about? I don’t care if he beat Esteban, he’s not better than Esteban and definitely not better than any good Japanese players.
ruwaka- It is risky…you gotta anticipate a grab, it’s like Low Just defensing in NeoWave, same concept, so you gotta see it coming, but there are things that beat it…and then it begs the question…if you know they are gonna grab why can’t you do something else?
So this whole entire argument is too built on Theory Fighter for my taste…
Also as some of you are watching the youtube vids right now Im uploading keep in mind my equipment is all on its way, the $600 60 GB HD HDD Camcorder will come in next week, The DVD Printer will be in next week, I get the 4 Digital Cameras next week, I order the MacBook TOMORROW, so what you are seeing is hopefully gonna be the last time you gotta deal with it…(In Juarez next weekend will be probably all she wrote!)
Emil’s is correct. What DG is saying is that vs a command grab, crouch and you won’t get grabbed. But if you play KOF you know that’s incorrect. You can’t duck command grabs in KOF. This isn’t a 3D fighter. It’s also in 2002 but I am unsure about the other games.
