Dexter Season 8, The End is inevitable

Honestly, not really.

Watch season 1 and 2 and just stop TBH.

Her existence hasn’t been given a purpose yet, so while it’d make for a weak plot, it is possible. Vogel is still suspect numero uno. She has said a lot of fishy things and almost seems like she’s toying with Dexter. Good writing is when they leave logical vacancies in the story that can filled in, so far there isn’t any for the tertiary characters to fill as the culprits without being nonsensical bullshit.

Like if Masuka’s daughter willingly tried to get a job with her father in the lab, or made one unconscious glance at Dexter that would be a good way to hint at a possibility, but there aren’t any. Cassie’s pseudo-bf from a detective’s perspective should be the prime suspect, but unless he’s getting some outside help (aka Vogel) his MO and timing seems rather odd.

My theory based on Vogel wanting to train Zach and his recent death, is that she’s done this many times before, and has released a bunch of “failed projects” and rejects into the world. Even so, a few of them see her as some maternal figure and follow her orders. I find it unlikely that the meager Vogel is able to carry a grown man’s corpse up to Dexter’s second-story apartment and pick the lock for his door without some kind of assistance. The only confusing part of these whole series of events would be her overall motive, but she could just simply be batshit insane.

What would really be karazay:

Spoiler

That kid with the knife fetish a few season back, who was on the cusp to being a killer, but Dexter threatened that he would kill him if he did. If he made a random return, that would be an interesting plot twist.

Dat pink dress

Another good ep, finally the season is picking up steam. Only 3 eps left, preview looked nuts. I’m hoping Vogal’s son lasts right up to the last ep, I didn’t like what they did with last season where they killed off the main villain early (even though it was mainly down to project conflicts)

Okay so Vogel WASN’T responsible for any of it. But now she’s pretty much flung herself into Big Bad territory courtesy of Dexter (though at least this time Dexter had a legitimate reason for those actions).

And with the whole Argentina thing, now we finally see finality come in.

Niggas is really checking for Masuka’s daughter? lolz. Her face is nice and all but the not even A cups killed her credibility. That’s one girl that looks better with her shirt ON.

Boobs aren’t everything.

yesterday I watched some season one , when Dexter trusted nobody and even had blueprints of the building to make a perfect ambush.

now it’s like “nah, let’s follow this guy hopefully he parked next to me and drives into a kill room” , and “I don’t trust Vogel , but let’s tell her about running away with my serial killer girlfriend just becuase”.

Yeah, but this has always been a problem with the show. Purposely making certain characters get bouts of stupidity just to move the plot along.

Dexter throws blood stained child’s toy away in regular garbage. Where his tiny son easily finds it

smh

Needs to take out dangerous Serial Killer quickly.

Decides to try and lure him into a trap in a very public place.

Oy.

This is a show about a serial killer right, and not a show about world most insanely codependent woman ever? Jesus fuck Deb, you are like the worst abused woman ever. I feel like the writers are just trying to see how much shit they can make Deb swallow before she turns on Dexter. I hate myself more and more as I complete this show.

She’s not turning on Dexter. Not after the attempted murder-suicide.

“The only place you can stay is Deb’s. Well can you think of a better solution?” Yeah, how about a warehouse or the woods or something with 20 boxes of pop-tarts and 10 gallons of water, that would last at least a few days and probably be a better place than the one person who wants her dead more than anyone else.

“I can’t believe I’m eating food Hannah McKay prepared” Yeah me either, why not just order pizza or something.

And what’s Vogel’s son’s motivation for fucking with Dexter? Because he knew he was trying to find him? But he was only trying to find him because he was sending brain chunks to doorsteps. Also why kill Zach? And we still don’t know who killed Cassie, or why his blood was under her nails, if we’re to believe the deceased Zach that he didn’t do it.

At least Argentina is finally coming into play, so that’s cool, glad to see at least a little continuity. Looks like the ending is setting up to be something like Dex and friends go to Argentina, but not before Team Vogel kills someone in his life because drama (and if there’s any justice Quinn dies too). Dexter trying one last time to run from the cops seems to not be the way they’re taking it, unless they wanna throw it in the last 2 episodes, but that’d be pretty lame if they did.

Also JESUS WRITERS JUST HAVE DEX KILL SOMEONE IN LIKE A 2 MINUTE SCENE, LIKE A ROBBER OR SOMETHING, IDC, FUCK.

I hope Hannah dies and Dexter and Deb go to Argentina instead.

I’m guessing he wanted Hannah to also hide out in the last place people would look. And who would look at the house of the one person who wants Hannah’s head on a pike?

As for Vogel’s son, that much seems simple enough. Jealousy. Remember, he had or has access to all of her files. Which means he knows how close she was to Dexter. Same with Zack I would suppose.

As for Cassie, it had to be him. Who else? Zack had a legit alibi. The only thing that’s stupid is why go through all the trouble to try and frame Zack for it. I mean, the only thing I could think of is maybe he knew Zack had left, didn’t know when or if he would be back and used the framing for Dexter to hunt him down for him. But considering the intelligence and tech access he had, it really shouldn’t have been that hard for him to find Zack. It’d be easier to make sense of if he had complete access to Zack’s blood no matter the time frame and didn’t plan on framing him.

Normally I’d just wait and see, but honestly I think it’s all on bad writing at this point. I can’t give them faith for any speculation.

there was a time when Dexter was a great show, I still think that show should have ended with some dignity back in season 4, u cant top the ending of that season, everything after it was downhill, here some good S4 scene:

I remember being concerned they had taken too much of a risk with the S4 ending. I thought they could roll with this though. Still make an intriguing series. Then the showrunner gets replaced. Writers may have too; I don’t fully remember. Now I’m embarrassed I once considered this show one of the greats.

the aging software part killed the season for me.

Really though, the actors themselves should’ve put their foot down on how the series went. I know Michael C. Hall didn’t want the series to run this long.

Eventually actors have to take responsibility for artistic integrity unless the money is THAT obscene you can’t say no. And I’m sure Dexter don’t pay that kind of money.
