Dexter Season 7: Eatin' Lil Debbie's Snacks

Well…

[details=Spoiler]LaGuerta could figure it out and clear Doakes’ name, and Deb might be practically commissioned to bring him in and be the trigger for her to go after her brother. It could be that she learns to side with him or accept it, but duty calls. Or for that matter, she might tip off Dexter that LaGuerta is really close to pinning him and his Code might force him to kill her, and I’m sure Deb couldn’t live with her brother killing a top cop at what is essentially her suggestion.

If you watch last ep…

Spoiler

Deb made a threat about bringing them both down, which shows she might be willing to end it all for her own “code”. The thing is, Dex holds his in very high regard and so does she. She just claims she understands his view but doesn’t share it, at least at this point. In any case, such a good season so far; so many dangerous angles to wonder about. [/details]

Ill be the first to say this… Damnz those hotties in that stripclub

You know the more I think about the more I hope that Rita’s kids don’t come back.

They were one dimesionally, horribly flat characters who were there because the show needed ‘children’ or that angle. They really didn’t do a god damn thing for the show and I hope they don’t come back at all.

if Dex starts killing good guys just to survive then this show will be nothing but a countdown to his demise to me. I never really liked Doakes dying and I’d hate to see something similar to that.

I liked the ep because-

[Spoiler=] louis and his bitchassness is not in the show anymore. I’m going to like watching Dex face off with some equally sociopathic Ukrainians.[/Spoiler]

so had to decide on either catching up with dexter or the pres. debate part deux. one, a horribly written predictable bunch of gibberish that tries to challenge our moral outlook on ourselves and society, and the other, Dexter. I chose Dexter, i’ll check out the debate later when im buzzed.

[details=Spoiler] Ok I’m glad Louis got what was deserved. He either needed to step up his game to an elite big bad level or stop wasting time. Only thing is they don’t delve into what his knowledge of ITK and Dex. The hand really couldn’t have been a coincidence “to fuck with Dexter”, and if it was, smh.

Anyone else notice that louis and dexter were actually pretty similiar, Louis always carrying the coffee, and that whole flip off Louis gave Dex when Louis was with Masuka, and Dex looked at him. I think Dexter did that same thing to Doakes unless I’m full of it. Louis is what Dex would have been if he didn’t have a dark passenger. I’d’ve liked Louis to have been the ultimate bad, but since he wasn’t going to be, then I’m glad he exited fast.

Deb “understanding” the necessary evil is playing out ok, but i hope it doesnt end there or that will be very anti-climactic… then again, and i said it earlier, i hope they dont go for shock factor and have Deb dead at the end of the season a la rita shocker for the sake of ratings.

A possibility might be Team Dex + allies so far with Deb and Quinn vs Team La Guerta + automatic Bautista, b/c of lil sister telling him about how Louis said Dex was trying to screw up his life. and then both teams vs Ukraine Mob alot of shit to chew on.

But i really don’t want any shock factor garbage that isnt legitimately natural or as natural as it can with this plot. the new chick Hannah seems like she’ll have a twist into the whole story im thinking she’s not as reformed as they’re making her or she makes or breaks Dexter possibly for end story. That’s the first legitimate interest I think we’ve seen Dexter have instantly with someone not counting the random chick in season 5 in the cornfields when he goes on a ‘fuck it’ spree with Ghost ITK [details=Spoiler]

would like to see some harry though, it’s a nice manifestation of Dex’s non-sociopath side and watching his dialogue with it is amusing. Also they need to fill in mike’s spot with latina cop, miami metro females have to start putting the pressure on the ukraine strip club take those girls back to the station hand cuff em frisk…iness and then kiss and makeup.

its better than last season I can tell you that much.

Oh right, I forgot to mention

the blonde

Spoiler

That chick Hannah is probably going to serve as an enabler for Dex, I don’t think the dude who killed all those girls would’ve done it if she didn’t get entranced by his sociopathic behavior. She probably can see the lingering Satsui No Hadou traits and is enticed by the danger, as she was 15 years ago.

Louis was handled poorly

Spoiler

Man, he exited stage right, with the quickness. They never explained how he knew about Dex, or if he even knew. And Louis handled Dex’s repeated near killings of him with grace, especially after being fired and losing his girl (Sinking a boat? Rather than, i dunno, reporting it to the police?).

I don’t see Dex killing Deb, or Deb being somebody who would turn him in. She had her opportunity, and she now see’s what needs to be done. Especially given the sneak peek of next weeks episode.

As for LaGuerta, she will get hers soon. She’s been played as a sort of villain for awhile now, and you don’t fuck with the Dex. She will ruffle some feathers first, though.

I am trying to figure out if Nadia can be trusted or not. Having this entire season take place at a strip club was a brilliant idea. Am I the only one who thinks that the Ukrainian mob might not try to kill Dexter and instead get him on their side?

Also minotaur man was awesome, and what the fuck happened to Dex’s kid? His ‘nanny’ is now replacement mommy.

Im tryin to figure out how did that guy get time to change into motoro/random konami side scroller stage boss???

Yes I have seen the baby-sat [/calvin n hobbes] more than the kids… jeez. In fact im tryin to figure out where was harrison durin dex sleep overs at debs… not a single mention

quinn gettin caught up in the kitty kat again

Titus Pullus/Punisher seems to not have no let it slide… he just kills an kills. no sense of let me pay attention to my surroundings…

Raiden/harry seems to only come from hosting mortal kombat when dexter seems to already have a plan… what happened to showing up when dexter has a choice issue…

In the books she just accepts who Dexter is and let’s him do what he does. It’ll probably be the same in the show but I can see the writers having her off someone just like the judge or whatever in season 3.

How do you ‘shock someone naturally’?

Isn’t that contradictory by definition?

I didnt articulate my thoughts appropriately or as much as I should have. I meant that they’d better be on top of their game when they do pull out the “shock” moment and not do it for the sake of closing out the season/series.

Season by season summary of ups and downs excluding plot holes and high points just the bulk of the story with “shocks”:

Season 4 was the perfect storm of acting/writing/plot/twist that wont be repeated because it’s just impossible to get to that level again since it’s already been done.

Season 1 with ITK well thought out, and story development made it twists satisfying as they were legitimately part of the story from beginning to end from the doll in the fridge to ITK being Dex’s brother.

Season 2 had the shock at the beginning of the season by finding all of bayharbor butchers remains and the rest of the season took off with it, i dont even really count Doakes death as the shock of the season.

Season 3 had no real shock as it was just more story to develop on and introducing thatt Dex was gonna have a baby.

Last season with Deb finding out was a shock but I think it was put in just to save the season and have people give the show a chance. Execution of Dex’s execution of Travis was done well and the show does well in achieving whatever emotion they want to have the audience feel, but i thought they threw it in there, (Deb finding out) it was out of place. It was basically Deb wanting to screw Dexter in the church and then accidentally running into him stabbing Travis.

Season 5: I’d’ve rather Deb’s sixth sense catch him at the end of season 5. That would’ve been better than her letting Dex and Lumen go. Travis and Jaime esclante wasnt really needed.

A good twist should be done and ups the story’s experience that it gives to the audience and we expect no less, but if it’s some rushed thoughless Ukraine mob has Deb/Harrison as a hostage or something simple it’s a waste and cheap setup for whatever they want to lead into for the closing of the series.
I have no prob with Deb/Harrison/ whoever dying or a mindfuck situation like Dex getting killed or whatever. But it has to be sly and have real substance or the disappointment will be bigger than whatever shock they come up with.

im ranting now, so I’ll stop after this fun fact: remember the movie clerks? the original ending was supposed to be someone comes in and shoots the main dude in the face and robs the store, and they changed it after talks about what the point was since it completely changed the whole movie’s mood.

Wow, that shit was harsh. Ray Stevensen is cold-blooded in this show

Deb taking off her shoes to walk flatfooted towards cueball = excellent
Angel’s sister walking around in what she normally wears = excellent
the music that was playing when Deb and Dex were watching the smoke = excellent

great episode.

Spoiler

Dexters on dat Dormammu tip. Chaotic Flame!
