The only reason I have Showtime is for Dexter and Homeland. I usually cancel it right after the seasons end. This must be a common trend b/c the last two years they’ve made an effort to start new shows directly after Dex and Homeland end. Last season it was House of Lies along w/ Shameless. This year they’ve added Ray Donovan (starring Liev Shreiber and looks awesome) and Masters of Sex - which is standard cable fare of finding a good story w/ a built-in excuse to show a ton of sex. It’s sad b/c the show actually looks like it could be a good biopic about the beginning of modern sex research, but the previews show that’s it really what I said before - an excuse to show a lot of sex.
I guess that’s my beef w/ most cable dramas. A lot of them try too hard to force the issue simply b/c they can instead of just focusing on a good story and character development. House of Lies and Shameless are prime examples. I haven’t watched Game of Thrones as I don’t have HBO, but I’ve heard that show (while really good) finds every excuse to show people boning also.
I think the point was, she wasn’t willing to kill LaGuerta until it came down to killing/turning in her brother. She literally had to make a decision right then and there. Planning was out the window.
Not what i predicted as the finale, I thought Deb was gonna be the next casualty. I enjoyed the finale, it was servicable and this season as a whole was solid (and much improved over the previous 2 shitty seasons).
