I think the beginning of S4 some guy asks Batista what happened to barbara and he says that they broke up cuz they wanted different things.
Season 4 relied too much on the trinity&dexter arc to maintain any other reasonable/believable story lines. So much so that someone here noticed that the last killings of s4 were a reverse trinity cycle – they must have thought out everything related to Trinity & Dexter.
I think you were watching something else. Anyone who can transition from crying deeply to hot kitchen floor sex that smoothly is a true pro.

Question : How THE FUCK did Dexter get rid of the body at the boat place? He didn’t prep the scene, didn’t bring his gear, left prints and DNA and blood spatter all over the place, wtf? He’s panicked about far more controlled situations than that, so what gives? (Dexter’s always been unnaturally gifted in getting away with all kinds of shit, like acting extremely suspicious and being the worst thing in a relationship ever, but this one really stood out for me)
EDIT: Masuka’s joke at the start of the ep was extremely misplaced. Not sure what they were going for there.
But I also just finished reading “Dexter is Delicious” … I’m kinda torn. I think right now, I like the style of the book more than the style of the last 2 seasons. 3 seasons. Here’s hoping 5 is good.
didnt like the first episode that much but I guess its ok because they had to deal with rita’s death first because they could really get it going. I just hope its focused on a killer again, I really liked trinity, season 4 was my second favorite after 1. if its just about dexter trying to net get caught and dealing with his loss, it will suck.

I love the books but I try to keep them separate in comparison. I suggest all fans of the show read the books because of the different Dexter universe you dive into when you read it. Season 5 is gonna be good. The last couple of seasons have saw Dexter evolve from the by day/by night character into more of a person. This season will be all about that. How this will effect him in the long run is something we all get to witness.
I dont like how they made it seem as if dexter really didnt care about rita the whole time for the first 3/4 of the ep , and then after he kills that guy its like … “oh yeah I loved her I better go back”… really threw me off.
Also, The actor who plays quinn killed the continuity by losing tons of weight. Did anybody else notice how skinny he was? He was reasonably jacked in the last couple of seasons. He looked like he was the one who had cancer. Another continuity fuck up was rita putting on a different shirt than she was wearing after they fucked lol
He has always been emotional detached, these are new emotions for him it’s not surprising it all came out with like it did. There maybe more random killings.
