season 3 gets a bad rap for no reason, jimmy smits was fantastic
Yeah season3 was ok. Still though, nothing like seasons 1 and 2 – where it was one continuous story.
I don’t like the transition from 3 to 4 though.
They wrote out practically everyone.
Wrote out who?
I thought season 3 was great.
Gianna
Prado’s wife (friends with Rita)
Masuka’s girl friend.
I guess those weren’t that big of a deal to begin with. Also, if they had spent time writing them off, it woulda been really bad. 'Cause it seemed they were looking for a reason to write Anton since S4 started. THey had him away on a cruise ship and everything. I mean, I dont like the Batista -> La Guerta angle at all, I think they woulda had better luck with using the characters from Season3 since they were already introduced and what not.
Also, on an unrelated note, I really don’t like what they’re doing with Quinn and Dexter. It’s really inconsistent.
The writers really bit off a lot more than they could chew with John Lithgow’s character. Though, i love Trinity and his story, it’s the complete foreground of the show. Seasons 1 and 2 had a way of interconnecting practically everything in the show so that it made sense. Season3…not as much. Then S4 pretty much broke off completely. I really didn’t like the nod they did when Rita said, “I make a mean mango salsa”.
ugh.
it’s already out, I’m considering getting it, fairly good reviews on it.
This made sense cuz Batista broke up with her due to “issues.”
She had nothing to contribute and probably has her own issues that require family than friends.
She was too perfect and would make Masuka’s perversions a bit too “normal” being a freak herself.
man season 3 had sooo much potential but they fucked it up. Jimmy was on point but the ending was like huh WTF! 2nd season was just the shit they havent delivered since. But this season might quinch my thirst
Ah. I’m calling that trinity’s fourth victim is going to be a woman he lost in a relationship in the past. Before he met Sally and started his family. I just remembered he mentioned something like that to Dexter.
I finally got the time to marathon my way through up to the current episode. First of all, I should have just waited because twist at the end of this week’s episode if brutal after not getting any cliffhangers (since I knew I was going to fucking watch the next episode immediately). I must agree with the consensus that this season is much more satisfying than season 3.
I should have just waited.
If I remember correctly season 1 and 2 were based from the books, but 3 and 4 are completely original.
Actually, it’s only the first season that’s adapted from any book.
That is correct, I have read the first two books, and while the first season was based on it, they changed the ending and the resolution of the ice truck killer than how the first season did it.
And while Doakes was still following Dexter around in book 2, and was later removed from being a problem, the way he was, and the main villian for book two was totally different than having the bay harbor butcher hunt.
Frankly, I’m glad the books and show split, it allows me to watch both and enjoy more Dexter stories, without having to keep mental checks on what was different in each installment.
I’d like to see Rita or Deb find out about him before the end of the series. Just to see where they go with it.
That would be preferable AT the end of the series imo. I think that is too disastrous of a revelation for either of them to bear for long.
I’m not sure why S3 gets so much hate. Well, not hate, but more like lack of enthusiasm. Jimmy Smits was 10 kinds of fantastic in that season, and the examination of Dexter finding a friend in place of his surrogate brother and foster sister was pretty interesting. Although I’ll be the first to admit that S3 started off slower than a paraplegic turtle.
That said, Dexter unleashing his inner Dark Passenger in front of Trinity’s family was great stuff. It was hilarious and disturbing watching Dexter dragging Trinity away by the neck with a belt, getting ready for a spur-of-the-moment kill.
The story moved slow in the beginning of S3 but we got alot of random villains that dexter offed which was pretty bad-ass. Sometimes you dont wanna wait for the big payoff of him killing the main villain to see the kill room in action.
Anyone got a channel or feed of Dexter?
(Feel free to PM if you can’t post it out here in the open)
Theres this: http://www.free-tv-video-online.info/internet/dexter/
not really for streaming but they usually have it the next day if torrents arent fast.
I’m still dont think Christine is the shooter seemed too spoon fed to me. Im still on the anton boat.
Shows starting now, girlies.
