Devil May Cry!

did it? I haven’t looked at the reviews since it dropped. But I thought it was rather mixed. At least compared to everyone praising the hell out of DMC3.

Ookami.

yeah, metacritic has both 360 and PS3 versions at 84 rating.

so between great reviews and great sales, it leaves me even more baffled by the need for a reboot.

EDIT: ok, “great” maybe a bit much, but it sounds better than "generally favorable."

lol, DMC2 “was a commercial success” aswell.

Don’t know if anyone has seen this picture, but this shit had me dying me I saw it, lol.

Saw the trailer over 10 times already and I still couldn’t get use to it. Sorry, but I just fucking can’t. And the interviews are only pissing me off even more. >:(

This is just unacceptable IMO. For 3 reasons (which have been said by everyone else in this thread but still)

  1. That design for Dante is utter shit PERIOD.

  2. Out of all the franchises in Capcom’s huge library of games, why DMC??? There are so many IPs in their library that are more in need of a reboot than DMC does. I mean c’mon, there are still stuff in the series that aren’t even explained yet.

  3. And Finally, out of all the goddamn developers to choose from, why Ninja fucking Theory!? Their games are pure CRAP, especially HS which IMO was boring as all hell.

Now that I got that out of my chest, time for some more HATE!

Pure GOLDEN I must say!

These are basically my thoughts on DMC4 aswell. It was lacking a bit when it came to Dante and it seemed kinda half done, but it was a really enjoyable experiance. I just wish I would have waited till it hit the bargin bin instead of paying 60 bucks for it.

I blame the 1st DMC.

pretty much. I understand how DMC2 was a “commercial success”. If the first was good, chances are the sequel will make good sales.

Capcom wants to reboot a series? Reboot Breath of Fire. Non of that Dragon Quarters shit.

Except Dragon Quarter was awesome, unlike what I expect from this.

Reboot Stryder. That shit needs to come back in the worst way

this was just bad.

do you work for NT aswell?

that’s a horrible idea.

Just make a Strider 3 instead.

Yeah, DMC2’s success was only because of how good DMC1 was. Everyone thought DMC2 would be awesome, and since there was no reviews out before the game was released, everyone just bought the game on the name alone. I was one of them. Worst $50 I’ve spent. :frowning:

Good choices, but I would rather want them to reboot Captian Commando or Final Fight (without the Streetwise bullshit of course).

Ironically enough, all my DMC2 time came from borrowing the game from my friend after he was done. There were times I saw it in stores and gamestop and thought of buying it for my collection but I just put it back and move on.

Capcom has a plethora of IPs worth reviving. But that requires work…things capcom do little of these days.

True, but it still wouldn’t hurt to try though. I mean who knows, they might end up being huge money making hits if done right.

Cosign. I liked the first 4 well enough, and went into 5 expecting the worst based on their character designs alone. Was elated to find that DQ did everything else (presentation, battles, music) better than its predecesors. But yeah, it was such a dramatic departure from the old games that I can see why it was panned by other BOF fans.

That just might be this DMC’s best bet…to go for broke & take the gameplay in a dramatically different direction as well Dante’s looks. Because based on NT’s 2-game track record, it’s hard to realistically expect they can mimic the previous DMC’s combat system, let alone improve upon it

Christ I simply mean lets get some fucking stryder. Damn. Lighten the fuck up.
